The Old Forge Garage, St Minver

I needed the battery changed on my Renault Espace as it wass no longer holdinga charge properly. I phoned several local garages as well as the AA and none were able to do the job within the 24 hours I needed it done in in order to allow me to drive home. The people at the Old Forge were immediately friendly and helpful on the phone and invited me to bring the car in immediately. Once I got there, they dealt with the problem immediately and were a delight to deal with. The cost was minimal and way below the value to me of the service.

Really trustworthy people who only charge you for the work down and not with 200% markup like some other independents I have used. Great workmanship on brake and suspension repairs. MOT not the cheapest but they are not fly be night operators who charge rock bottom on MOT and rip you off on repairs. Trust is everything and this garage and it’s staff are some of e best in my motoring experience. Top marks and very reasonable prices.

Myself and my wife have used this garage a few times, when we were in Cornwall looking for property we had a problem with my wife's X-Trail. Forge garage sorted that out for us swiftly. Since then we've moved to Cornwall and used the garage a couple of times for servicing and repairs. Always a friendly welcome and they go the extra mile. Never had any any issues with them .

I would highly recommend this garage to anyone, the staff are polite positive and the work is second to non. We know take four vehicles here for all our needs.

Myself and my wife have used this garage for a few years now. In 2016 they helped us out when our car went into limp home mode 50 miles away from my sisters cottage that we were headed for. The main dealers weren't interested. Old forge diagnosed the problem and fixed it despite local dealers sending the wrong part at first!! In 2017 we moved from the South East to Bodmin, and a few months later I bought a Saab convertible from a dealer in Devon. It had a warranty (one of those insurance ones) A couple of months later the PAS developed a fault. I called old forge and they took it in in a couple of days, diagnosed the fault (pump) replaced it and helped me claim off the warranty which worked just fine. A couple of weeks ago we took my wifes X-trail to them for a MOT and service, no problems all done and dusted with a smile and a natter with John.

John, owner of the Old Forge Garage, and his team are always very personable and have carried out various repairs for my family and me efficiently and with integrity, at a reasonable price. It is great to be able to rely upon and trust a local garage.
