Tankerton Garage

Just had my Vauxhall Astra serviced and MOTd. This is a proper old school garage where to can take your car and know it will be fixed and Tested properly. I have three cars and they are all serviced and MOT tested at Tankerton garage. I've used this garage for 20 years without any problems. The guys that work there work hard and get the job done. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Keep up the great service.

Awful Awful Awful!!Booked the car in asked them to service and look at the particle filter as the light was on. 5 hours later we collect the car. He had driven it 6 times. Including a jolly up the road he charged me for. Despite talking to me about the issue for 20 mins the other day he FORGOT why he took it out. Said he didn't notice the hazzard light coming one (guys he's a mechanic doing a service!) When he went to switch the 'service' light off he couldn't do it. (Probably because you have to service it) He then wrote a load of fault codes down charged me £200 for work I truly believe he didn't do. Gave me a piece of paper said Service on it but included no parts and no part numbers. 35 years driving and I've had some dodgy mechanics and some good ones. This guy may either be incompetent, a swindler or an imbacile. Either way when I challenged it and offered to pay for the parts on presentation of his receipts but not the labour he refused to present them
