"Avoid this garage. My experience was extremely disappointing."

**Avoid this garage. My experience was extremely disappointing.** My vehicle was recovered to Robbings Motors by the AA after a coolant-related breakdown. Following their diagnosis, I was advised that several components required replacement, including the heat management module, oil filter housing, heat exchanger, manifold seals and coolant. I authorised the work in good faith and paid **£1,671.20**, expecting my vehicle to be properly repaired. When I was called to collect the vehicle, I was shocked to find that it was **not actually repaired**. Staff admitted that warning lights remained illuminated and that they had been unable to clear the fault codes. As soon as I started the engine, a drivetrain warning appeared advising that the vehicle **should not be driven**. I could not understand how a vehicle could be presented as repaired after such an expensive repair bill while displaying warnings indicating it was unsafe to drive. To make matters worse, I discovered scratches to the bonnet and the passenger-side headlight that were not present when the vehicle was delivered to the garage. When I questioned both the unresolved faults and the damage, the employee I dealt with became aggressive and unprofessional. During a telephone conversation, he told me to **"shut up"**, despite me being a paying customer. I recorded the conversation, which also contains other statements that I found deeply concerning. In my view, the recording speaks for itself regarding the level of professionalism I experienced. I found his behaviour completely unacceptable and wholly inconsistent with the standard of customer service any customer should expect. The AA later arranged a further inspection, during which additional fault codes were identified, including faults relating to the boost pressure sensor and the exhaust gas turbocharger coolant pump. These faults had not been identified during the original diagnosis despite the vehicle having been recovered because of a coolant system failure. This raised serious concerns, in my opinion, about both the quality of the diagnostic process and the repairs I had paid for. I also noted that approximately **50 miles had been added to the odometer** while my vehicle was in the garage's possession. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for this additional mileage. Furthermore, I discovered that my vehicle had been left **overnight outside the garage with the doors unlocked and the windows open**, which I consider to be a serious failure to exercise reasonable care while it was in their custody. Having completely lost confidence in Robbings Motors, I arranged for the vehicle to be recovered from their premises and taken to **BMW Berry Heathrow** for an independent diagnosis and repair. Following their inspection, BMW advised me that the previous repair work had not been carried out correctly. I was informed that the intake manifold had been improperly refitted, a threaded bolt had been damaged, and electrical wiring had also been damaged during the previous removal and refitting of the intake manifold—work that Robbings Motors had been engaged and paid to carry out. I then had to pay a **further £1,263** for BMW to rectify these issues. In total, I have been left out of pocket by **£2,934.20**, together with the inconvenience of multiple recoveries, weeks without my vehicle, cosmetic damage, unexplained additional mileage, and customer service that I found wholly unacceptable. As I have been unable to resolve these issues directly with the garage, I am now pursuing legal action to recover my financial losses and any other remedies available to me. I have attached before-and-after photographs showing the condition of my vehicle before it was left with the garage and after I attempted to collect it, together with evidence supporting the matters described above. I also have supporting evidence, including the recorded telephone conversation, which can be provided if required. The contents of that conversation include statements that I found extremely concerning and which, in my opinion, raise further questions about the professionalism and standards of this garage. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Robbings Motors and would strongly encourage anyone considering using this garage to review the available evidence carefully before deciding whether to entrust them with their vehicle.

"The best around and very professional "

Robbins has been my regular local mechanic and these guys for me personally have always, always been nothing but professional, supportive with no BS and always straight to the point. I’ve gone to so called Mercedes specialist, RAC and others who doesn’t properly look at your car and only guess and quote you stupid prices of things unrelated to the core problems with your car. Robbins will look for the core problems and not make it up. I’ve gone numerous times to others but always find myself coming back to Robbins to fix what others have broken further or know exactly what’s going on with my car. Personally for me, they are the best and am grateful such local business is still around and I fully support them. Great customer service, professional and more which is why I highly recommend them.

I've used Robbings Motors on and off for 20 years now. I run a fairly large business, and so I have experience of using them for light commercials as well as for a number of other cars (including Jaguar, Ford, Audi, Renault and Porsche). It's a true family run business, and they are skillful, reliable and sensibly priced. They'll also go the extra mile for you, and run an efficient recovery service as well. Bodywork repairs are peerless. Other repairs are carried out quickly, efficiently and with great customer service. I can't fault them.
