My wife's car is Polo 1.4 Auto is 4 year old with 9k on the clock. I am very conscious of servicing and have adhered to HJ's strictures on fluid changes etc as gospel. I had been concerned about the need to check/change the cambelt etc when required. So contacted my local VAG agents and got conflicting messages, then another independent who concurred with one of them. Then was given Mark's details, I had an in depth conversation (too long to repeat). The end result was a 10,000 service with gearbox oil replaced and a bill of £199.40. The VW quote was a shade under £800, and I don't cut penny pinch. Even VAG contact him with queries, so we're in good hands! Just a bit tricky to locate the premises, but I did. Customer for life of the car, which I hope will be 10 more years at least! BC
