The response to our request for help when car would not start exceeded our expectations and the fact that a faulty relay was found to be the problem considerably reduced the cost of repair. We were prepared for paying out for a new starter motor, so the skill and honesty of Simon is much appreciated.

Simon told me it was OK to drive a car with oil pressure that had totalled my clutch. I then totalled the engine costing me 2k. I'm taking him to court. Other mechanics hearing him talk on the tape I made are shocked and disgusting. Find another mechanic.

I have been going to Mercury Motors for over thirty years and it is run by Anthony who took the garage over from his mother who ran it during the Second Word War. Anthony is unfailingly polite and knowledgable and what he doesn't know about cars nobody does. If a part can be repaired it will be rather than automatically being replaced and costing more money. He even found my cherished Mazda MX5 for me and it is still going well after nine years and is regularly serviced by the garage.

Anthony, the owner has been running the garage for the past thirty years and took over from his mother who ran it during the Second World War. He is honest, straightforward, polite and a fount of knowledge as far as cars go. He has serviced many cars for us over the years and we are happy to travel quite a distance to his garage than go to local ones. His staff are as good and unfailingly polite. And he even found my cherished Mazda MX5 for me nine years ago which is still going strong.
