Brought my car in for a repair and was told that it’s not repairable and needs to be scrapped as it’s an MOT failure. Took it to a different mechanic who fixed it within less than 2 hours. The car passed it’s MOT a few months later, I did almost 10,000 miles since and it’s still driving absolutely fine…

My car developed an issue with its lights and needed to be looked at quickly. I was sent the detail of the garage by fleet control and when approaching I wondered if I had got the right place, generally my car goes to main dealers. I was a little concerned but I needn't have been. on arrival I was greeted by really lovely staff, I was offered a coffee and a comfy seat, the car was taken off me immediately and sorted in a very short space of time. These guys are brilliant and far exceed any main dealer service I have ever received.

Some days something happens to restore your faith in humanity. Masters garage achieved this by helping me out this week. Part of my daughter's exhaust fell off and other garages had given her quotes to repair it beyond the car's worth. Masters asked us to bring it in and they would take a look. Two hours later the car was repaired and a small charge made. Friendly advice on the phone and a smiling efficient mechanic when we arrived. I cannot recommend this garage highly enough.

I've been going to Masters for repairs and servicing since the mid 90's and they have always given brilliant service. Their friendly, efficient approach has never changed in all that time and I have never had to return my car because of work that was not complete or incorrect. After I bought my last car I thought I had to get it serviced at the main dealer. What a mistake, their work was shoddy and twice as expensive as Masters. They're not the easiest place to get to, being right on the western limit of Bristol, but it's definitely worth the extra effort to get there. I've been driving for more than 40 years and it took me until the 90's to find a garage as good as this.

All, Just though I would let you know of my recent bad experience! I usually take my car to get an MOT and any other further work at the Masters Garage round the back of Babcock because they give Babcock employees a discount and in the past they have done a reasonable job. I had an MOT yesterday where the car passed with just a bulb needing to be changed which the garage changed without telling me prior to doing the work. I received a bill of £74.18 which I have queried with the garage saying "don't we usually get a discount" and stating that the garage should be letting me know what work needs to be undertaken prior to doing it… …the manager of the garage replied shouting at me saying we give discount whenever we feel like it and saying would you rather me charge you with doing the re-test or just do the work. I said you have to at least let your customers know what needs doing prior to doing the work… …the guy then slammed yes slammed 5 pounds on the table and said "this is what you came for and we wont be seeing you again". I then walked off disgruntled…I wont be going back again to be treated like that!!!

Our Audi A3 has been given 5 star treatment on every visit whether for service or repair. I cannot recommend the Masters experience enough: detailed advice, a courtesy car if required and always leaving with a feeling of the garage having gone the extra mile to ensure I am completely happy as a customer. For example, we have had a recurring ABS warning light problem which has been rectified with efficiency and patience. Many garages might have thrown in the towel and recommended an expensive new pump rather than carefully cleaning and refitting the original unit. One of the Directors even extensively road tested the car to make sure all was as it should be.

I started using Masters after reading reviews on Honest John. I've been very impressed so far, having used them for basic servicing (oil changes, brakes etc.), engine management light diagnostics and MOT (all on a 2002 Honda Accord). They quote up front and have, on a couple of occasions, come in under their quote price. All work has been carried out quickly with a full breakdown of parts, costs and labour. Communication is very good while your vehicle is being worked on. Their prices are considerably lower than the Honda main dealer I had been using and turnaround time is quicker. I also appreciate dealing with one of the directors of the company, which makes a nice change from large faceless motoring companies! They also have a good selection of chocolates and magazines in reception. I haven't tried the tea, but I bet it's pretty good as well.
