This small garage is run by Julian Anderson, a true MG ZT/Rover 75 specialist. Found it through the various MG ZT/Rover 75 Facebook groups. I was very impressed after collecting my 2004 MG ZT-T for an MOT (no more advisories!) and a few repairs, how the car ran; so much better after all these years of ownership. No more judder, no more booming noise from the roof! Now the bonnet opens easily, engine mount fixed, handbrake works perfectly, etc etc. I was kept up to date with advise on corrections and repairs. Do not expect a glamorous shiny showroom with free coffee and glossy magazines, which will cost you in the end. I will make my next appointment very soon for some improvements to the car, I can honestly recommend JMA cars

Having recently bought my first Rover 75, I found Jules through the forums on the 75 and ZT club website. I quickly established a relationship on the phone and via Whatsapp. I am a perfectionist, and wanted the best for my car, which had been loved, but lately not well maintained. There was a lot to do, and I needed a garage I could trust. my local garage were not confident to do certain things, and aren't geared up for a full mechanical restoration. I therefore set off for North Wales with eager trepidation. there are some things that money cannot buy. Passion, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge of these lovely cars. Jules has these in abundance. I left my car with him for a month, and he went over it from the front to the back, involving me at every turn. I spent far more than I had expected, but far less than any other garage for the work done. In addition, the parts used are of the highest possible quality, and the knowledge I gained is priceless. Since having my car back I have driven it on a 280 mile round trip in the most appalling weather imaginable. The rain was so bad that it blew out the caps on my roof rails! The roads were like rivers, and the raindrops like a jetwash. The car drove like it was a summers day. Not bad for a 20 year old car! I read all sorts of superlatives about Jules on the 75 club forums, and felt that most were overblown. They weren't. Jules IS the national guru for the Rover 75, and I can say with absolute certainty that you should consider him first for all your Rover 75 needs. It's a long way to go, but worth it. I will be going back as and when I need to. Thank you Jules.

Exceptional value for money, given his wealth of expertise and experience with these cars. An enthusiast keeping these great cars alive, combined with excellent hospitality and pleasant surroundings. Wouldn't hesitate to take my 75 back, the car felt like new after he had worked his magic.

Jules was exactly what I was looking for. My MG was in a state where it was marginal whether or not I resurrected it. I had to pay a fair bit to get the car to him but his specialist knowledge and low overhead operation meant I my total cost was probably no more than i would have paid for a reputable local garage but this way I got the bonus of all that experience Jules has which should not be undervalued. Will be going back though at the moment the car is running so well that I don't think it will be very soon. Well worth the effort to get to him, thanks Jules

Read the rest of the reviews as they say it all. Julian is an absolute genius, craftsman etc etc. As one person put it, you can only be in ore of him. I know nothing about cars or much else for that matter but you can’t help be notice the passion he has going about his work. The reviews go back a few years now but nothing has changed, he’s still the best one can be. If you have a 75, no matter where you live, take it to Julian.

I visited JMA Cars in Colwyn Bay to fix various issues on my MG ZT, the main issue being a screeching noise from the engine. I had taken the car to various garages around the country to try and fix this screeching, none of whom had any idea what it was and often just replaced parts for the sake of it. I found JMA Cars through the owner's club forum and, going by their reputation, decided to make the journey to North Wales. On arrival, Jules was very friendly and immediately got on with fixing the issues I had asked him to, before then tackling the screeching noise. Having diagnosed the problem as being a faulty cam belt tensioner, he proceeded to take the engine apart to access the offending tensioner and replaced the cam belt and other tensioners while he was at it, at my request. It became clear that Jules knew these cars inside out, and that his reputation on the owner's club forum was completely justified. He completed the job in good time and for a very reasonable cost. Service was fabulous throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JMA Cars to any 75/ZT owner.

Not for the first time, knew the faults and cures by description over the phone before even seeing my car. Jules knows every nut and bolt on a Rover 75, top class service at top value prices. Car is running as smoothly as it gets after the JMA treatment. Brakes and electrical problems sorted out on this visit adding to the full service plus intercooler and Thermostat repairs last visit. Have travelled up to Colwyn from South Wales on a number of occasions now for Jules to work on my Rover 75 after reading of his unrivalled reputation in the 75 world. Every time I mention this people think I'm mad to travel that distance for car repairs and service. I'm sure they wouldn't think that if they had a 75 and visited Jules. Is there even so much as the most insignificant minute metal washer on the different variants of these cars that he doesn't know everything about? Even a day or short break on the lovely North Wales coast pays for itself due to Jules' unrivalled knowledge and price for work that would cost double or even treble at other garages. Whilst there on a number of occasions people have rolled up from all over the UK with their cars, having given up on their local garages in diagnosing and fixing various faults and I've watched Jules diagnose the problem often within minutes as their owners stare in delighted disbelief as they were on the point of ditching their cars in desparation and disappointment following countless expensive visits to other repair shops. It's an complete educatiion about your car just to speak to Jules for twenty minutes or so while he's pottering about under the bonnet I think that he's on a one man mission to keep this entire Marque on the road

Very experienced and through approach in all he does. High level of care that I'd like to be able to provide myself but cannot match! Work is very far away from the quick service turnaround. Aim appears to be maintaining an ageing vehicle to achieve on the road reliability and nearly new performance. Work goes beyond what's required and incidental repairs done are often not mentioned on the invoice! My mpg up by 17%. Thanks, Jules.

Drove a VERY long way all in one day follow a prior chat with Jules who I trust total to do the correct job required;carried out leak test on by diesel and subsequently changed one faulty injector.Precise and to the point-car starts/run well now. He is always available to offer help and advise when needed as I personally worry about being misguided by others,often based on their lack of Rover 75 knowledge and understanding.

If you need any work done on a Rover 75 or a MGZT then look no further! , After several recommendations from owners club members I decided to travel up from Kent to have a number of jobs done, I was knocked back by the diligence and infectious enthusiasm of Julian ("Jules") the owner, who ably did all the work I asked of him plus gave genuine advice of anything of importance that needed looking at, now that's what I call service. It's no wonder that this business receives such good reviews, the fact that owners travel as far away as mainland Europe to JMA is a testament in itself! So good was my experience I am now going to make the pilgrimage anually.

I took my car from Dorset to Jules yesterday, for a few bits and bobs. 540 miles round trip and worth every mile! I can't tell you what a comfort it was dealing with someone who actually knows what they are doing. Jules gave the car a complete check-over and discovered stuff that should have been done and hadn't (even on a car with full history!) He was extremely friendly, explained exactly what he was doing, and why, and suffered my dozy questions with patience and good humour. All in all a very pleasurable experience. I shall be going back. I cannot recommend Jules too highly.

Drove for 3 hours to seek out this garage. First class service provided by a highly knowledgable and friendly professional who was more than happy to answer all my questions and definitely went the extra mile. Terrific experience.

Fantastic quality workmanship from Jules has brought my 75 back to rude health. He's put in extra amounts of work making the whole experience something special. Having read excellent feedback on JMA Cars on the 75&ZT Owners' Club, I decided to get my big 90,000 miles / 6 years timing belt change done there, plus other jobs such as the lower wishbone bushes. OK, like many others, I travelled a long distance (from Dorset) but I am really pleased that I did! Good value and I know the job has been done properly. Jules from JMA Cars, has to be rated as one of the most knowledgeable guys on this marque in the country.

Would not take my Rover 75 to anyone else. Jules knows the 75s inside and out and he takes pride in doing the work. Well worth the journey to his place.

600 mile round trip to Colwyn Bay from Sussex with Rover 75 CDTI with cooling fan and a/c condenser problems seems a tad crazy,but Jules was true to his word and sorted the car in time agreed.Could have stayed and chatted for hours as his knowledge of these cars, including the electrics,appears unrivalled.Trip was very cost effective and saw some great scenery

I brought my 2004 diesel Rover 75 over from the Isle of Man to be looked at. Julian checked out the engine with his T4 tester, re-mapped the ECU to 160bhp which gives a useful lift in power and much better low rev. torque. The air-con has never worked in the two years I have had the car but Julian sorted this and replaced a leaking pipe and condenser and re-filled the system. He fitted a new sidelight and switched off the automatic door locking using his T4. He gave me a pair of tyre protector plates which I have fitted myself. A very helpful knowledgeable man. What he does not know about Rover 75 cars is not worth knowing. Before visiting him he had solved a direction indicator fault for me over the telephone! He was a RAF radar technician and it shows.

I have just had my car(Rover 75 Connie, Auto, 8 Y.O.) serviced and various problems sorted by 'Jules' (Julian Anderson) of JMA CARS, COLWYN BAY. I am not a 'Techie,' but since the garage that I used and trusted locally closed earlier this year, I didn't know where to go and more importantly, whom to trust, to fix my car. I then discovered Jules on the internet through the Rover 75 Forum. His name came up often in the various discussion threads and it is evident that he is well respected by Forum Members for his wide knowledge of anything to do with Rover 75s. After contacting Jules and listing my various problems -sunroof motor, sunroof blind, sunroof drains, (leaking into car) A/C, cooling fan, key fob, service.- I decided to make the pilgrimage from the South East to Jules domain. As you would expect with a, 'Guru,' Jules lives half way up a hill and his lair is approached via a narrow road. Within 10 minutes of meeting him, he had modified the bonnet release mechanism and diagnosed that the A/C was leaking from a faulty joint! Staying with family nearby, two days later I collected my car with everything done, plus a few other things that he had found! The price was not horrendous and well worth the 600 mile round trip to have a Rover 75 expert, whom I could trust, inspect and fix my car. Jules knows every screw, nut, bolt, washer and scrivet of a Rover 75! As a 'Non-Techie,' I am a little in awe of his experience and technical knowledge of the car. Unfortunately, there was a downside. Couldn't have a cup of tea - no milk! Nevertheless, 'I'll be back!'

I have just completed my third annual (MOT) visit to JMA Cars. I travelled on a round trip of 480 miles from South Buckinghamshire and stayed overnight with Julian Anderson and Isobel. I have always been very satisfied with everything that Jules carries out. The work is always carried out with great professionalism. Resulting in a Rover 75 CDi SE that provides me with carefree motoring.

I travelled from Ashbourne , Co Meath , to Newport near Bristol bought a second Rover 75 CDT . Then brought it to Julian JMA in Colwyn Bay to look after it . Well worth the journey the car is now perfect ! We now have 3 Rover 75`s in the family .
