GDK Garages & Minor Mania

I recently purchased a vehicle from another motor trader and it turns out the brakes which had been installed just before I had collected the vehicle were fitted incorrectly - this was exceptionally dangerous and nearly involved the brakes catching fire!!! I was towed to GDK and was greeted by Nikki (who I understand is the owner) who kindly said he would look over the car and come back to me. Within an hour he had explained the problem in layman's terms and took me through my options to resolve the issue. Nothing was too much trouble and a courtesy car was offered for the time that my car was going to be in the garage - I didn't take up the offer but it was the gesture that was what impressed me the most. After experiencing numerous negative experiences with garages GDK restored my faith in the motor trade and showed me that their are businesses around who aren't just out to make a quick buck but to genuinely look after the interests of their customers. I have been using GDK for nearly 25 years and have never had any cause for complaint. I have never felt that I am being ripped off, and no work is ever carried out without my agreement. I met the new owner for the first time today and can honestly say that I feel just as confident taking my car there as I did before. I dropped my car off for an MOT & was offered a courtesy car to get to work (I declined). It's good to know that the high standard of customer service is being upheld.

The garage had my front driving side wheel bearing replaced in no time with a very reasonable charge. What is more, they even did a complimentary car wash. Feel so happy to see my car not only be repaired but also shine again!

Me and my family have been using GDK Garages for 16 years and have always found Alex and his staff to be very helpful and friendly. Alex knows his stuff and gives good advice. Alex has always been friendly and helpful. Our old honda covic had some problems but Alex always has a smile on his face and a friendly comment at hand. I cannot recommend him and GDK garages enough.

Alex has been servicing my car for 3 years now. His team are trustworthy and know their stuff. There is no "making a quick buck" nonsense - it is all about customer retention and delivering a quality product - these guys are first class.

I have been taking my '67 herald here for mots and some servicing parts for over 8 years everybody is on a first name basis whilst they are very modern and will happily service your Masserati as well as a 50 year old Jag they occasionally dig out some old part to help me out (twin carb's with manifold..almost new dynamo etc) and know all the right people if they don't do it themselves (gearbox rebuild for example) I know everybody by name as they do me and it is very convivial...also as I rarely trust anybody to do work on my vehicle the mere fact I would trust Nick to do anything to my car and from me that is high praise indeed. All in all a very professional garage with very friendly and helpful staff

Generally servicing costs come in lower than expected. The car is put back on my drive once complete, having been cleaned. I also enjoy Alex's humour.

D Driver says: GDK have been servicing my cars for over 5 years. I run 3 cars, 1 is fairly new, the others are "near classics" GDK do the work on my cars quickly and promptly. They always tell we what needs doing before they do it, and how much it will cost. The prices are fair and I am treated very well by GDK.
