D&M Motors, West Kirby

I very rarely write a review and I have never written a bad one but I'm absolutely fuming! This garage is awful!! They quoted a maximum total of £440.00 inc vat to complete a job including all labour and parts. Why then have I just had to pay £595.00 with no additional work being carried outl!! £155.00 more than what they quoted. Their explanation; “the prices we gave you for the parts didn’t include VAT (when getting the quote we specifically asked and they said they did include VAT). The parts were more expensive than we thought and we didn’t include the labour for part of the job in our original quote (AGAIN, they did because we specifically asked them to!). We were warned to stay clear of this garage by a friend of a friend in West Kirby who had exactly the same thing happen to them. I thought we had covered ourselves by ensuring we had gone through the quote with them in detail. I wish we had listened and gone elsewhere.

I took my car into D and M Motors with a suspension fault, I had supplied the replacement part myself but unfortunately when they fitted it there was a fault with it. The car was on the ramp and stripped down, they put it all back together and carried out a temporary repair while I organised a new part to be delivered. Once I had the new part I contacted them and was told bring the car in at my convenience, this I did and the car was worked on immediately. The whole team were friendly, courteous and very helpful. The bill was very reasonable especially as they had to strip the car down twice to install the part that I had supplied. In summary this garage is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

A great family run business who go out of their way to help. Nothing too much trouble and always a good job at a reasonable price. They have even driven my car back home for me. A hidden gem!

Really good local garage, sorted many things out over the years.

I have been using this garage since I moved to the Wirral about two years ago, though my wife's family (who is from here) have been using the garage for much longer. Dave (proprietor) and his sons are highly knowledgeable, friendly and above all scrupulously trustworthy and honest. I wouldn't contemplate going anywhere else for any work on my cars! 10/10

I have been using this garage for a while now to look after my classic car. Always reliable and friendly from the owner and the mechanics. Goes "the extra mile" to help and is fair and reasonable with price. Nothing is too much trouble and you don't get charged for every squirt of oil or piece of cloth. Seem absolutely genuine as they are old fashioned enthusiasts who love cars. I don't have any association with the garage other than as a customer and my car has had MOT failures but with good reason. Definitely worth a try if you live in Wirral area.
