Excellent work done by Mr John and his guys

I was quoted £129 for a new track rod end. The car was in the garage for 24 hours and it cost me £281. The mechanic could not release the locking nut on the track rod end and claimed that this had required them to spend several hours to release it. An intelligent approach would have been to replace the radius arm which would have been much cheaper. Obviously tracking had to be checked, but I received no print out from the alignment equipment, so I had to take the result on trust. Six months after the repair, I noticed wear on my front tyres, so I had the tracking rechecked at another garage. They found that it needed a signiificant adjustment, so perhaps my trust was misplaced. That was my second and last visit to this garage.

They have always given me an honest opinion of what was required, at what cost, with no attempt to inflate the job, (a refreshing change!) I have no hesitation in recommending them to other car owners who value a quality service.

Have used Crane Bank before, and was not disappointed. Some garages in Chester have a nasty habit of inventing work that doesn't really need doing, but not Crane Bank. My car is due MOT next month, and will have no qualms about handing it to Crane Bank for the test.
