Following a sudden electrical problem with my BMW I had it 'jury-rigged' by my breakdown recovery service and limped to this previously unknown BMW specialist. The owner, in between his pre-booked work undertook a thorough diagnostic check to reavel all manner of problems centred around an overcharging alternator and recommended that I have it recovered to my local garage since he did not believe it was safe to drive the 200 miles home. I was impressed that he accepted the job, fitted in with his routine work and eventually charged me for only an hours labour although his work on the car seemed to take much longer. He also carefully explained the problems, suggested the solutions and gave me an estimate of the cost while knowing that he would not get the work.
