Andy Gayle Mercedes Benz, Smethwick

I have visited Andy Gayles on a few occasions relating to service and repairs on my current and previous Mercedes. I think his costs are reasonable (For Mercedes), work is always as described and Andy is a very knowledgable guy. I say this as a professional engineer myself.

Took our sons car in as the brakes were bad. Staff were very kind doing a repair on Christmas Eve to make sure we could drive safely. Not many garages would do that! Lovely staff, very kind and helpful and they explained the problem at every stage. Absolutely brilliant service.

I enquired online...no response...called 5 times ...waited for call to be connected to someone after it was answered....still waiting. Arguably the poorest service from MB provider...pretty sure Mercedes Benz would not want this attachment to their marque.

I Went to this garage as my merc A180 went into limp mode with turbo problem. They spent several hours and could not narrow the fault. All they said was it could be the Turbo, it could be the DPF filter, it could be anything else. Basically, unable to narrow the fault down even though they are supposed to be Mercedes experts,lol. They charged me more than 500 pounds with my my car in the same state. They suggested they could take the turbo to test, cost approx 700 pounds and if this was not the cause it could be the DPF filter which could cost 1000 pounds. Basically, they were just adding to my cost due to their incompetence. I took it it to Best Turbo's in Dudley and they diagnosed the fault free and gave me a quote which was substantially cheaper then the jokers at Andy Gayle. I wish I had gone to Best Turbo to start with as I would have saved the money wasted at Andy Gayle.

I have been a customer of Andy Gayle, Oldbury for around 25 years. I am a dyed in the wool Mercedes enthusiast and Andy and his colleagues have always impressed me with their knowledge of the cars - especially the older models which folks cherish, which are not well understood in dealerships.

Rude and unprofessional staff! Very poor customer service! Substandard parts fitted; had to take my car back to the dealership to change window wipers. Very poor experience - never again!

Used for years, deemed them really good until my wife had her merc serviced, first day after car returned it overheated, left her stranded that required it to go to our main dealer and then the wheels fell off as we discovered not only did they not carry out the service correctly they used non approved parts!

Not impressed at all I genuinely think the Mercedes main dealers are cheaper by the time this garage has added on their unnecessary and extra 'investigation' work / charges which are not even required Avoid

The best place I have found to take my car for servicing and repairs. They value you as a customer and they way the treat you is impeccable. Thank you for your dedication.

Very knowledgeable guys, Andy was right there in the workshops prior to my visit at 6.00am along with quite a number of his staff.Plenty of tea and coffee available free of charge.

I could not be happier with the service I received, my car was picked up and dropped off without any problems; I would recommend Andy Gayle to anyone with a Mercedes. First Class.

no fancy offices, no sales persons trying to sell you things. you pay for the jobs done on your vehicle that is all you want. used in the past and will use in the future, will trust Andy to do any job and give me the right price.

the timing chain on my car had gone. obviously an expensive job to put right. this is my first mercedes so hadnt used Any Gayles before but opted to send it there. they did a first class job iam very happy with the car it drives as good as new. ill be using in the future

I had taken my car to a Mercedes main dealer for diagnostic, and was told that it may need a timing chain, and that it could cost £2000. 00 I was shocked to say the least , I know this is an expensive job, but that is really over the top ! I looked around and found Andy Gayle , I booked my car in for the next week for diagnostic test , and I wanted a full service plus any jobs that needed to be done all put right at the same time ! Well wat a difference, and what fantastic service, the car now drives like a new one ! A lot of work was done , and I am very happy with the results! Total cost inc vat was £1800.00 ! I dread to think how much this amount of work would have cost at a main Dealer! And I very much doubt it would have been as good!

First class service on my Mercedes SLK from normal servicing and MOT's to repairs. Staff friendly and efficient with good advice from Andy or his team. Collection after an MOT and service it was washed and vacuumed. 5 stars without doubt.

I booked in with andy gayle for a service B and MOT. I ended up paying £450 in total as i needed new front brake pads and air pollen filters. Not sure if i paid a bit too much? I wasn't impressed with the service i received. They offer free pick up and delivery however i wasn't offered this. When i collected my car i wasn't given any feedback as to the outcome of the diagnostic report he charged me £40 for. when i enquired i was told the engine light was on for no serious reason?i made my payment and then collected my car to find it dirty!, grease all over my steering wheel and doors!i have a cream interior, so wasn't too impressed!when i asked him about it, he said his hoover had broken?i had to bring the car home and spend an hour cleaning it:( I've been driving my car for two days now and the new brakes squeak, and the engine is making a weird noise it wasn't making before!don't feel that andy gayle was honest, professional or value for money
