AJ Palmer MOT Centre

I don't want to pay through the nose for a courtesy car, posh coffee and a compulsory valet, so I've been taking my vehicles here for years. I've never experienced anything but helpful and friendly service. Their knowledge and insight is always very impressive, and costs are always reasonable. If further work is discovered during a job they're straight on the phone, so no surprises, ever. When my wife was 9 months pregnant the owner worked until 4am to get my car ready for the next day.

We have two cars in our family that we tale to A J Palmer which he has looked after for years both in servicing, MOT's and repairs, never a problem. I have a new car still under the manufacturer warranty for a few years yet but when out of warranty it will go to Palmers. My daughter when up from Wales also takes her car there.

I have used this garage for my MOT's, service and general repairs for my 56 year old Bristol for the last 15 years. Cannot be faulted at all.

Have used AJ Palmer for years. A good, straightforward business. No airs and graces. Don't expect a carpeted reception area with piped music. Do expect good quality, honest, workmanship.

Tony Palmer, the owner, has an MOT service bay and can not only service a car built this year but has good knowledge of older cars. i.e. those without Alternators, ABS,ECU's, seat belts and simple electrics and mechanical component's. His staff are very good, he has three ramps in a spotless garage, ample parking. He looks after my 52 year old classic and it went flying through an MOT today. He also looks after my wife's 4x4 which is modern Japanese. He is unfazed by most things, I have used Tony Palmer since I retired from my own garage 14 years ago. He has looked after my classic for all of those 14 years. Booking essential but the job is done when he says it will be done and the car handed back at the time agreed.

I have used this garage for about 7 years now for servicing andMOT of both my wife's Daihatsu Terios 1.5 auto and my 1962 Bristol 407 which is my pride and joy. One car is a 50 year old with very simple mechanics but requires skills of 50 years ago to keep it going. The other a fairly new Daihatsu 4 x 4 which is since last year no longer imported and that is full of electrics and ECU,s which require a modern touch. Both are looked after with great care by Tony Palmer and his small but efficient team. Nothing is too much bother. I have recommended this garage to heinous and friend and none have been disappointed.
