Should I be worried about a wet belt Ford Kuga?
Should I be worried about a wet belt Ford Kuga 2.0 EcoBlue automatic?
The 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine used in the Ford Kuga does use a wet belt design, so there is the potential for problems with the timing belt, but as your vehicle is still a relatively young example the risk is reduced. Ford revised its oil specifications to reduce the likelihood of problems and also reduced the timing belt interval, which is now six years or 100,000 miles for EcoBlue engines. If your vehicle has been serviced on time either by a Ford dealership or a garage using the correct specification oil then the risk of experiencing issues is relatively low, but we would advise that in the future you ensure the correct grade of oil is used and that a timing belt changed is scheduled at or before the recommended interval.
