The Volkswagen Group 2.0 TDI engine from 2013 onwards uses a wet oil pump belt. These are considered to be at less risk of failure than wet timing belts, which this engine does not have, but it is sensible to ensure oil changes are completed on or ahead of schedule and the correct grade of oil and oil filter is used.
