My mother took her vehicle in for a handbrake issue recently. As a mechanic myself I had a look at it for her and found an issue with the handbrake cable. When she took it here, she was told she would need the cable and 2 rear discs due to the handbrake being operated by shoes in the discs. Being a small Renault it’s operated by cables on the caliper so discs were not needed. She took it back and said she doesn’t need discs just wants the cable doing. When she returned she found he had replaced both rear calipers and just clipped the handbrake cable back on where it had obviously come uncliped where it meets the cable for the lever. I had looked at it for her before it went in, and told her to come to my work but she needed it doing quickly. I tested both rear caliper levers and found no issues with them before she had visited Gary, so know they didn’t need replacing. It could have been a nice easy and cheap fix, but walked away with 2 rear calipers that weren’t needed. Avoid this place

Fords are his big love, but he'll turn his spanner to any classic. Jobs are turned round quickly and to a high standard, and the bill at the end wasn't a sting, either.
