The diagnostic equipment they have is esential in fault finding modern electonic system. After finding and fixing the fault they explained how the repair was done and how they had taken extre measures to stop the same thing from happening again. That extra bit of care and attention to detail is why I would recomend them over any main dealer.

1st class service from Paul and the team. Very knowledgable and service your Volvo as the main dealer would if not better! VOLMECH only use genuine parts. I will never take my Volvo to the main dealers again!

En route to Glasgow, via Stockton, this morning, from down south. My S80 (2014) developed a near-fatal fault, near Stockton; went into "limp mode". Stockton Volvo couldn't fix it - didn't even offer to diagnose the problem; but did, in fairness, recommend Volmech Thornaby. Arrived at Volmech Thornaby, 11am. Explained I was en route to Glasgow, via Stockton. Quick-as-a-Flash, they had the vehicle in for diagnosis. Identified the problem (faulty Electronic Throttle Body) and before I was even asked, had the part on order, from Leeds. Part arrived at 2pm. Fitted, immediately. I was on my way by 1615. Not bad! And, cost was extremely reasonable - £420 all in. Beat that, Volvo main dealers! What really impressed, and which garners them full marks and 5 Big Stars, is that (please bear in mind) Volmech "squeezed me in", despite their already having a very busy schedule. I’d give them 10 Stars if the website allowed it. At all times the staff were very friendly and took the time, earnestly, to explain the problem; but convinced me that they had the matter well in hand - very reassuring. Paul, the chap working the office, was the consummate Public Relations chappie - he deserves huge praise, and my grateful Thank You.

Highly recommended - my local garage in Northumberland told me my diff needed replacing on my 60 plate Volvo XC90 cost for parts only £2200. Took it to Volmech and they diagnosed it - changed the oil and filter in the diff. Problem sorted £360. Adsolute stars and so good to deal with - 70 mile round trip for me but well worth it. If you live near them don't take your Volvo anywhere else.

Old school garage with guys in mucky overalls who know Volvo's inside and out. Friendly, affable and happy to chat about issues you think you might have and offer suggestions. Won't always try and get you in to do unnecessary work. Feel comfortable leaving my car with them and will continue to do so even after I move to the other end of the country.

Drove all the way from the south of France to Stockton on Tees and found out that the garage here in France forgot to fit the fuel filter on my Volvo S60 which was left in the boot of the car, rang Volmech told me to bring it in straight away and they would fit it which they did. great service and pricing.

I've been using this garage now for 20 years, and have never found them anything but helpful. They have rescued me on several occasions, answered my seemingly stupid questions and done their best every time. I can thoroughly recommend them.

I have been using this garage for probably 20+ years, one of the longest standing customers. The staff are unfailingly courteous and friendly. My spare key stays with them, they collect, repair, service or test as required and redeliver. The range of faults in that time has been minimal with the vehicles, but always repaired in good time. They have also serviced my wife's cars, not all of which have been volvo, but the same service and expertise have been evident

Been using this garage for many years of Volvos. You can trust them, they will phone you before they commit you to any unexpected costs, they put up with all sorts of daft questions and answer politely and honestly, they charge reasonable prices.

Always helpful, knowledgeable, able to help with any problem. If they don't know about it, they know where to go. Have bailed me out many a time.
