Vanborn and Radford, Exeter

I've been driving since 1955 and have had many cars during that time and obviously have used many garages.I think I can honestly say that this one comes out top in all respects.

We love the guys at V&R. They are always excellent, and are supremely flexible and fitting in with two working people. They are never condescending to customers. All this has been consistent for many years now. They are the epitome of how a small garage, or indeed a small business in general, should run itself. We try to pop in with some chocolate biscuits or somesuch every christmas, to let the guys know we appreciate them.

On 2 occasions this year,other than for my M.O.T.and service,I booked appts.with this garage.The first to check for a suspected oil leak,and the second to do a pre-winter check.On collecting the car the first time and asking what the bill was I was told'Nothing,we didn't actually do anything apart from putting it up on the ramp and visually checking'.On the second visit the bill came to £14:76p.they having checked all oil/fluid levls etc.with advisories as to what would be required at the next service.

I've used this garage for a few years now for MOTs and services. I've had work done on both a 7 year old car, and a 25 year old car, and the guys at the garage are very knowledgeable and straight talking (and care about doing a good job - which is rare these days!). All my visits have been quick; drop the car, go to work, then collect without a problem... if there is any work needing doing I get a phone call to let me know. Highly recommended!

Located in an unprepossessing premises in a quiet back street in Exeter, Roger and his team never cease to amaze me with their helpful, friendly and good value service. They seem to take pride in keeping older cars going so we don't have to succumb to the ad mens fancies for new every time. They seem to be willing to tackle anything and if they get stuck know someone who can. Roger is always on hand to explain the bill, almost in an apologetic manner, and is always looking for ways to do what is needed to keep us safe without resorting to a change it all now mantra.
