I recommend EVERYTHING about Unifit! Jody and her team of mechanics have looked after me for over 20 years in Plymouth. I was originally introduced by my husband and all his extended family use Unifit too. I am leaving Plymouth which is the only reason they wont continue to provide all my car servicing, MOT and maintenance needs. Dropped my car in for a long standing MOT and Service. Price advertised for MOT and Service was a clear £159 (no mention of VAT). I did have wheels balanced which is an advertised £7 per wheel, and my breaks were replaced (by the garage I got them from) as after a few thousand miles (for the second time) they started to rub and warp. My final bill £344. This used to be a good value garage, but now I think they advertise big - but deliver low. Won't be using them again.

I’ve been using this garage for over 5 years now and can honestly say I wouldn’t go any where else now . I am well greeted when I go in and now have good rapport with the staff which makes the experience good . Any issues with my car I take it there and they tell me and even show me the issue where a lot of garages wouldn’t . I’ve always been well looked after going here which is what you want as a customer

took my car in and failed MOT i was quite surprised as had no issues at all it was failed on 5 things and 0 advisories 1 of them was washer bottle not working well you would think that they would think to put some water in it but no thats too much thinking lol i was quoted £350 plus VAT for urgent repairs so over £400 quote in the end...........it played on my mind i was just being ripped off so took it to another garage andthis is the best bit haha it PASSED with couple of minor advisories which new garage i took it to quoted less than £100 but theyre are minor advisories!!!!!!! These people tried to rip me right off and i got thinking of all the elderly or vulnerable folks that they must be ripping right off, im glad i went somewhere else for a 2nd opinion where it passes straightaway....use these con men at your peril oh yes the receptionist wasnt there this day but fron the other reviews about her are spot on shes an absolute rude muppet and cant believe shes actuallyfront of house!!

This used to be a great garage with reasonable prices, the receptionist (owners daughter) should not be in the job full stop she is ruining the business, she is unbelievably rude and has poor customer service and a lot of people I have spoken to about that garage agree and that they avoid the place because of her. When dropping off you walk in, no smile or hello she doesn’t even look up from her phone, you have to wait until she has finished texting and she won’t apologise for it either. Dropped car off for MOT at 9am and it got to about 3pm and I haven’t heard anything yet so decide to drive down there, to see my car sat outside, went in and again receptionist sat on her phone doesn’t look up either, asked her when the car was finished which was 10am so asked why she didn’t call- “well everyone knows it only takes an hour” then continued to text. She is that bad It was like a comedy sketch I thought she was having me on. They’re gonna have no business soon enough. Another customer also walked in and managed to book some same day work, I joked with her and said wow that’s lucky I had to wait two weeks just for my MOT as you’re so busy- the receptionist then said no no I wouldn’t have said that it’s my fathers business I don’t turn away work- because she talked to me like i was a POS I pettily went into my call log to show her when I called in and she was still making up excuses saying it wasn’t her in the phone etc- well if any of you have spoken to her over the phone you can easily tell it is her in person due to the accent and the attitude, had one on the phone and one in person- no way was it someone else. And the mechanics left plastic covers all over the car and steering wheel and gearstick etc. such a shame as I used to go here for absolutely any car trouble and all work that needed to be done, won’t be any longer.

Very friendly staff who fit me in an hour before close for 3 well priced tyres whilst I waited in the waiting room. Have used the garage 4 times now. First MOT passed with flying colours but unfortunately my new car wasn't so lucky. Issues fixed in the same day at a very reasonable price. Will continue to use this garage!

We have used this garage for many years and they don't mind small or large jobs. They phone if anything is required and we have had different makes models and years of cars. You can't beat there service and MOT good value. We are often asked why this garage but if you find a good one why change.

polite reception and cost quote

I had fluid leaking from the engine area of my car, the leak was found and rectified and the area around the leak was cleaned up. I collected the car on the same day I took it in. Fast efficient service, very satisfied would not hesitate to use this garage again

The garage is well run with friendly, efficient staff. Whole garage can be observed from the large waiting/viewing area.

I have been coming to this garage for several years and have always been given the best service. I am a lady who knows nothing about cars and can be a bit daunting every year when I bring my car in for a mot but I know with mike and the rest of Unfit I wont be ripped off like I have been in the past. I cannot recommend this garage enough they are cheap but still provide the best service I would never take my car anywhere else. FANTASTIC GARAGE.........

I don’t recommend uni fit , my car is excellent in condition has passed everything thing when I wanted to sell it just a week ago , one of the mechanics in another garage tested it and passed everything, UNI FIt failed its MOT for no reason , well perhaps the reason was cheap MOT. Don’t fool by cheap MOT , infact this garage is the most expensive in Plymouth , the owner has advertised £49.99 plus vat for service and free MOt which basically you get your MOT passed by nearly £60 not £20 , ridiculous !!!! I found this man a true cheater , AVOID UNI FIT, worst garage in n Plymouth , there should be a reason for offering cheap MOT with no advance booking

Visited the garage for mot and service , passed mot with little advisories ,received a call regarding advisories,was asked if I would like the repairs to be carried out to which I agreed ,was given a collection time and also offered a courtesy car free of charge ,all work carried out in the same day ,these guys are brilliant always friendly and helpful brilliant garage .

I visited this garage for s service and Mot which i was told about from someone i work with ,was shocked with the price of the service and Mot as i was paying main dealer double for half a service.I couldnt believe how good the service was i rang on monday they got me in as i was out of mot within a space of 2 hours,The man i spoke to advised me to do a small service as i had a full last year his words where "dont waste your money it doesn't need it" which i was already pleased with as im a single mum, i dropped my car off and they offered me a courtesy car for free as i had to pick the children up from school.I usually feel intimidated when i enter garages as i dont know much about cars not unifit its a very friendly family run business.I received a call within a hour to say my car had failed on 2 track rod ends they gave me quote which was very reasonable and did the 4 wheel alignment for free.The car was ready by 5 and i walked away with a bill of just £213.88 inc vat.I was over the moon i used to pay that just for a service at Citroen.Overall fantastic garage and should be appreciated a lot more

Had mot and small service booked in for 8:30. When I turn up they've not got me booked in, so I have to wait for slot 3 hrs later. Asked for total price including vat. £75 perfect. Any problems give me a call. I receive call saying I need new H/L and cv boot. I say. 'what will the total bill be please' which they reply 146+vat. I agree for them to carry out work. When I arrive to pay they have a different receptionist and I'm charged £250!! I tell her I was clear on the phone in asking what the total bill was and told 145+vat I would have never agreed to £250. I was then offered a fitter to remove the parts and be left with no mot!!! Thanks very much unifit. £20 mot but they make there money other ways. Oh and they change the same cv boot every year! (Yes I noticed) Usually I don't mind but this time has cost me.

This garage does offer a very cheap MOT but you will pay more in repairs that are not needed and they charge over the odds for work that they do. I feel sorry for the people who just accept and pay for work to be done.

Since discovering Unifit's £20 MOT price I have never used another garage since (at least 10-15 years). I do all my repairs myself so only need them for the yearly test and I have not once had them take the ............ preverbial. No 'phantom' fails that many other garages seem to feel the need to create to increase business revenues! I have recommended Unifit to everyone I know when conversations of MOT and car repairs arise and not one of my friends, family, work colleagues etc.......... has ever come back to me with a complaint about them, nor changed to another garage since they gave Unifit a go. So that pretty much vouches for their in house repairs business (of the type they don't get from me personally!) Yep............ that's right, there are decent honest motor businesses out there and this is the only one I have found in my 25 years of motoring Phone them to book the MOT and expect a slot within a few days of your call (same afternoon if they've had a cancellation).

I have run my Rover 420 GSI from new, 14.5 years ago. I have been taking it to Unifit for several years now, for service, MOT and repair work. The car's not worth very much, except to me and to my family. For this reason, I am reluctant to spend too much money on the car. Unifit understand this, and are not expensive compared with other local garages I have also previously used. Unusually, I recently had an unfortunate incident where the car broke down caused by the failure of an item fitted by Unifit. As I was some distance from home, I got the RAC to tow me to a(n RAC approved) local garage to make the repair. To be honest it was unclear if the unit had failed or if it had been poorly installed. On my return, I formally asked Unifit to reimburse me the full cost of this repair, and thankfully they have agreed to do this without quibbling. I am very relieved. It was very unusual for a failure in this way. But I suppose an incident like this is a valuable (if unfortunate) test of how they have chosen to deal with a customer in these circumstances.

well what can i say of these guys i have been going there now for 4 years and never had a problem they only charge £20 for a MOT thats the cheapest in Plymouth, they can not be beaten on price and when they have to fix something they are really resonable, better than most, i will go there everytime and yes dont think O\1 £20 for MOT, AND THEY WILL FAIL IT AND then it will cost the earth to fix WRONG THEY DON,T DO THAT like some i can mention here example but i wont name the Garage put my T4 in for MOT and it came back that it had failed on the front Discs are worn, REALLY ! FUNNY OLD THING FOUR MONTH PRIOR TO THAT I HAD PUT NEW ONES ON worn were they dont think so i told them as you know when they are knackered you will have a rather large lip on the edge of the disc, well mine where very smooth no lip atall, so i called imn the D.o.T WELL YOU CAN EMARGINE what they thought when i did that funny old thing they now have a new guy doing the mots antway back to UNIFIT PLYMOUTH GOOD GUYS they are just behind MILBAY ROAD IN PLYMOUTH
