I discovered Rino (pronounced Reno) at the beginning of last year after my wife had written an article about his business for a local advertising journal. I was having a few issues with my ageing 3 Series Beemer (which isn't surprising as it's now covered some 260,000 miles) and so asked him to have a shufti. He fixed them all. What was different though was his attitude and general bonhomie. Having taken the morning off from work I hung around at his workshop and I was invited to watch as he worked on the vehicle, benefiting from a knowledgable commentary on what was wrong and what he proposed to do. So, resisting the temptation to resort to over-the-top superlatives I can honestly say he's the first mechanic I've come across in 38 years of motoring who I can say ticks all the boxes. I can not praise him enough. Perhaps the fact that I now live in Cornwall, some 320 miles away, but still take my vehicle to him (when I return to Bedfordshire on business every five weeks) for repairs, says it all!
