Troops, Leadenham

I've been meaning to put Troops on this "good garage guide" for a long time, but an event today has finally got me to actually do something about it. I've been a regular customer of Troops for almost 14 years, and wouldn't dream of (willingly) going anywhere else. I've bought and sold cars with them, and had all manner of repairs and servicing. They are unfailingly helpful, friendly and courteous; they have often helped me out at very short notice. I trust them absolutely, their advice/guidance and workmanship has never let me down. Today was typical. While on my way home down the A17 a warning light popped up on my dashboard; although it went off and on intermittently and I was tempted to ignore it, I decided to play safe. I walked into their service department at about 12.35pm They immediately took my car into the workshop for diagnosis, saying the check would take about half an hour. 25minutes later I was told the nature of the problem, and they said that a part had been ordered and would be here this afternoon. By 1.00pm I was on my way home with a loan car, and at 4.25 they rang to say the job was done and the car waiting. The fact that there was no charge (the car was still under a 6 month guarantee) is beside the point. I know that this was not major job, but the whole process was typical of Troops - they always get jobs done and parts bought asap, and perhaps this is why I'm still with them after so many years. You'll have to go a long way to better them.
