My van failed mot on rear wheel bearings... turns out nothing wrong with bearings...the movement in back wheels was due to half shafts and was normal took car back and it took 3 mechanics to figure out this was normal for rear wheel drive transit not happy you would think an mot tester would know this ... they tried to tell me this was a new thing they had never seen before but my long wheel base transit is 15 years old so this is not a new feature in vans . very unprofessional could have cost me hundreds to get bearings replaced if I had taken their word fortunately my local mechanic is brilliant and very honest and refused to repair something that was not faulty...

We run 2 10year old cars, an Astra and a Yaris. Mostly they pass their MOTs but if there's a problem the work has always been done quickly to a good standard at a great price. They once diagnosed a head gasket problem on the Astra (by testing the coolant for gases) and completed the entire job in a day, promising that if it turned out the cylinder head did require skimming they would do the extra work for free. They are always prepared to give advice and are totally trustworthy, a really good garage, situated on Shire Hill Industrial Estate in Saffron Walden. I can recommend them unreservedly.
