Called to get a quote for a part (fuse box) to be supplied and fitted. Response was a simple and flat: "I wouldn't be bothered about that" Not a "it's going to cost a lot" or "we're not able to do that", more a "can't be bothered" ??

My Mazda 6 needed some work, I contacted the garage I'd used for years, they wanted £90 + VAT per hour to do the diagnostics, then of course it would be the cost of parts and labour to complete the repairs, then I had the issue of how many days it would take to do the initial check and then the work, so I decided to look locally and found TCS on the honest John website. Accepting I was lucky and managed to catch Ian at a point in his day where I could be fitted in, he said he could look at it straight away and give me his opinion. I took the car in, I explained what I was experiencing, Ian set to work checking the the parts that could be responsible. Ian stated the bits that needed changing, checked the parts were available and gave me a price supplied and fitted, in short I had my car back repaired and running as expected by the end of the day, again there was an element of luck in the timings but luck has nothing to do with Ian's approach to dealing with people and their cars which is no nonsense advice, excellent service and a price that reflects the parts and work involved. To say I'm grateful is an understatement.

Took my not so young car for a service and mot. I mentioned a problem I have and he said he would take a look at it aswell. Brilliant prices, quality workmanship. Over all brilliant, no worry appointment!

I have been going here for years now and the service never fails to impress me. A real no nonsense approach to car servicing and repairs. The owner will just tell you what needs doing and what doesn't, and will always advise you on the best course of action, even if it means turning away business. Top this off with low cost labour rates, it can't be beaten in my eyes.
