I have dealt with this garage for over 25 Years, and have always received courteous and excellent service from all members of Staff. I have always been advised when other work is likely to need doing, to keep my Car in good running order.

I have had my Volvo V70 D5 serviced here each year since 2013 plus some minor repairs caused by hitting pheasant at speed. The servicing has been done satisfactorily and without any unusual or unexpected issues. Fully detailed and itemised bills listing all work carried out and any parts used identified. I am more than satisfied with their services . My son has also used this garage to service his Range Rover and it was his recommendation to myself which caused me to book my services here.

"Not impressed"

First time using this garage for repairs - had an MOT which failed due to a number plate bulb falling out. They put it back in but apparently that didn't work - the cost to fix this was £130 and they said the fix was simply to "tighten a terminal". I complained and said that seems excessive but it fell on deaf ears.

Bought a car from here great car did have a warranty repair which they carried out poorly But more importantly to me was promised that the service history would be found and sent to me needless to say I'm still waiting Nick promises the Earth on the phone but I have given up trying now just have to accept I paid over the odds for a car with no service history they will know who I am if I say I bought a Jaguar XF from them and I don't care absolutely avoid them I wish I had gone elsewhere and would never go back

Two days before needing car to go on holiday I booked car in for them to check out noisy brakes. They made slot available at short notice. When car was examined the mechanic found small retaining spring had broken & another come loose. They sent a driver in their own car to fetch parts when supplier's drivers were all busy so my car could be back on road fully repaired in under one hour. Highly recommended.

Very easy to deal with. They order parts in advance where possible to minimise time car is off the road. Labour charges seem reasonable & any parts are also fairly priced.

Had my cars MOT'd here for a few years now, i tend to do my own repairs if i can, but a dual mass flywheel failure on a 2006 Mitsubishi Colt was more than i could handle... the DMF failure has also damaged the gear selector unit... Main Dealer quoted 'upwards of £1200 - it depends if it needs a new clutch aswell, and about £500 for the gearchange' (i think they didn't want the job...) Southcombe did it for £650 DMF and clutch (LUK Brand), £300 Gear selector (Mitsi), all finished next day, as it happens they've got a chap (Martin) who is ex Mitsubishi (did work for the same main dealer i got quoted by). Apr 2012 Labour rate is £49.50 per hr.
