Bought a car from Simpsons in 2020 2 years 5 months old and 17,000 miles always serviced and MOT’d by Simpsons Subaru The car was covered by a 5 year extended drive train warranty and also paid for optional MOT cover The cars first MOTwas September 2021 at 22,000 miles with the only issue though not an MOT failure was tires slightly perished noting I received no health check for the vehicle ! 2nd MOT was carried out in September 2022 at 27,000 miles and mentioned to service department noise from front and a clonking when braking and also slight vibration.I was informed the vehicle needing new front pads & discs which were fitted so assumed that was the issue March 2023 I had 4 new tires fitted, though not shown to me the fitter said bushings were worn and was surprised the vehicle had passed its MOT ! With the tires fitted I looked at previous MOT paper work which included the vehicle health check though not pointed out to me at the time of collection states - visually ok lower arm bushings starting to split ! I immediately contacted Simpsons who said split bushes aren’t an MOT failure but I did have MOT and warranty cover at that time ! September 2023 MOT 33,000 miles still had noise on front that service department was informed about again, was a pass again even after what the tire fitter had indicated worn bushings 6months previous this being the last MOT before warranty cover expires - All green ticks on vehicle health check again yet lower arms bushes had just started to split - yes started to split twice over two years ! TODAY September 2024 MOT 38,000 miles - now with expired MOT/ warranty cover guess what failed MOT as bushings have gone from twice starting to split to excessively worn bushings ! Was told on phone front arm rear bushings, knowing Subaru issued a TSB for front arm front bushings I questioned this but was still told rear - having now removed car from Simpsons with just a service and MOT fail certificate that shows front bushings major failure but rear split and just an advisory - false information again given on call with service department ! I appreciate and know cars go wrong but i come on simpsons you can’t deny you’ve known about this common issue relating to Subaru TSB’s and the symptoms my vehicle was showing over a long period and would of expected Simpson’s Subaru to have kept a keen eye on the bushings The front or inner bushings went from no issue to a critical failure in the space of 5,000miles ? this caused serious safety issues on a trip to Europe due to this critical failure extremely noticeable at europes higher speed limits Please get your vehicles independently checked if buying form Simpsons as clearly profit carries more importance than safety by ignoring/stalling warrantable MOT cover issues becoming your expense and not there’s

I was on a weekend break in Wiltshire and on the way down my car developed severe wheel bearing problems. I managed to limp to the hotel where I was staying and took the car at 9.00am on Saturday morning to their service depot. The problem was quickly diagnosed and the replacement parts were sourced, delivered and fitted by 11.15 am. That is what I call fantastic service, so a big thank you to all at the depot who were helpful, efficient and sympathetic!"
