Roundway Garage, Bristol

Being using Roundway for 18 years with various cars and motorcycles. Quality parts always used and total costs for work highly competitive. Being a regular, often they have sorted a minor issues over the phone. I have referred on to many friends and family who are equally pleased. Good business model.

I have used this garage twice to MOT my Jag and have been treated with respect and the work was done while I waited. Everything was comprehensively explained. No fuss and no sales pitch. Brilliant.

I’ve been using Roundways Garage for over twenty years. I’m a single mum on a budget and over the years using Roundways I have run various little Fiestas, but 6 years ago changed to a Shogun Pinin 1.8 4x4. I love this car to bits but without Roundways it probably would have been scrapped 2/3 years ago – and I’d be walking everywhere! I’ve always found that Dave will clearly explain the different options/prices and let me decide what to do. They are never patronising or belittling because you’re not a mechanic. I’ve noticed lots of women use this garage – a recommendation in itself. I’ve always been shown the broken part so I can see why it had to be replaced. Service is great, they can nearly always fit you in on the same day if your car has broken down, and for minor emergencies – i.e. sunroof won’t shut – they’ll mend it there and then. As Peterbread says the building is a bit tatty but who cares when they will get your car roadworthy. I would 100% recommend this garage, and often have to friends, who now also use it. I don’t understand Kristieb review. Obviously she has had some issue but I personally find it unbelievable that it happened as described.

My partner took her car to this garage for a misfiring problem, they advised the best thing was to have a FULL service for £125 + (cant remember full). After this they told my partner that the rear wheel bearings needed replacing. 1 month later at her MOT a trusted mechanic told her the rear wheel bearings needed replacing- as they HAD NOT DONE IT. They charged her £200 for work they didnt do. Another month later the gear box was leaking (caused by them) and now it is in the garage again as they didnt even replace the spark plugs in the full service, coil and replaced a lead with a different model car lead- this has caused lots of damage and they are an absolute rip off- will charge you for work that they wont have done. Avoid like the plague. Also, its a shame they are rip off con men as it was a very convenient garage and they have now lost lots of work.

I have been using Roundways for over 10 years and have found them to be 100% honest and reliable, I would recommend them to any body. They are a proper old school garage, Dave did his apprenticeship at Jag main dealers, and knows his stuff, I have used them for Jaguars old and new and Mercs and BMW's with the odd Cadillac and Dodge thrown in for good measure. As good with ECU and ABS stuff as they are with the oily stuff. Don't be put off by appearances, it may be a bit grubby but I would rather go there than take my chances with a "Main Stealer" any day of the week.
