“You are a small-minded, disgusting little man. I am cancelling your order, and you will lose your £1000 deposit. Your business is not welcome at Barlow Motors and if you step foot on our forecourt, I will personally remove you physically”. These are the words of Dave Clarke to me on 26 January 2023. What had I done to warrant such a vicious, threatening, and bullying attack? I was not able to confirm a date when I could collect my new Skoda Enyaq! I had been dealing with Josh Udall who had failed to confirm a date for handover of the car, despite my requests. I subsequently received a call from Josh asking me when we had arranged handover! We hadn’t and when I said so he told me I had to collect it that day which I couldn’t as I had made plans, nor could I say when I could as I had an operation imminent at short notice. That is when Dave Clarke got on the phone and proceeded to pressurize, threaten, and bully me with the above words. I collected the car the next day to sever dealings with Barlow Motors ASAP. I brought my concerns to Dave Barlow afterwards who was nonchalant, arrogant, and disinterested. Furthermore, he made an egregious allegation that I had been witnessed using aggressive behaviour and foul language towards his team which is an egregious lie. When asked repeatedly to provide details of what was said, when, to whom and who witnessed it, he was unable to do so. Therefore, my conclusion is this: Josh Udall: lazy, Incompetent Dave Clarke: Aggressive, Bullying Dave Barlow: Arrogant, ignorant My advice…STEER CLEAR OF BARLOW MOTORS unless you are prepared to risk the wrath of these individuals.

My parents visited the garage on Sunday 4th May 2014 to look for a new or used Skoda car (Rapid or Octavia), and along with another couple in the showroom, waited and waited for the salesman to finish his phone call. He put the phone down and then made another call. My parents and the other couple left the showroom disgruntled about the lack of service. The salesman only acknowledged them as they were leaving, by which it was too late. Is this the Skoda experience we hear of? I mentioned Skoda to them on their buying journey but they quite rightly refuse to entertain this brand and garage. First impressions last. There was only one person seen representing Robert Eardley at the time.
