People leave over the top reviews of how well they were treated. Rubbish. Dave and his gang will weigh you up and overcharge you accordingly if they can get away with it. What do average people know about the mechanics of cars. Nothing.

Brilliant Garage!!! I cannot understand the two negative reviews. My partner and I have been using Regal since it has opened (over 35 years ago, when it was previously located in preston street). Regal MOT Centre is such are reliable, honest, garage that get the job done fast! Regal in my opinion is the best garage in Barrow! Fantastic value for money and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Recently I had a brake that was binding and they stripped the brake out, freed off the brake calliper and i was on my way within one hour and a half, which was excellence service! It was not a 'leave it all day' and we will get round to it, they got on with it straight away as explained my circumstances (i was in very big rush). This was no issue for Regal MOT centre and got the job done. Thank you for your years of fantastic service!

Could not recommend Regal MOT Centre enough! I heard a banging noise on my car, took it to the garage, they checked it out and found it was a bracket broke on my exhaust. The exhaust was in good condition so rather that renew the exhaust, they fabricated a bracket and welded back on. Exhaust was like new, only charge a nominal fee! I was on my way within 30 minutes! Fantastic customer service! Thank you Regal!

Went in with a simple problem. They kept me waiting for days and did unnecessary work, then tried to convince me to pay for it. I strongly advise that you avoid this business.

Caused £400 worth of damage doing a routine service, never received a penny or an apology...

My Dad used to visit Regal years ago when the owner first started out. "Go there, the guy knows his stuff and he's not expensive." I did and I still go to Regal Garage because the guy IS honest and he DOES know his stuff. One time I was quoted by a well know quick fitters garage a fortune for repairs. I went to Regal and asked the owner what he could do. He not only did all the repairs, but he welded my exhaust saving me a lot of money. Should have gone there first (but couldn't get me in straight away) so that's my advice - go to Regal first. I have never been over-charged and I have never left thinking they put on parts that weren't needed. They start at the cheapest solution first and then work up (if that didn't work). And the owner will take the time to explain everything that needs doing or has been done . . so you won't be. They never do that condescending thing that some mechanics do: "We both know you're not a mechanic so I am not bothering to explain." and they have only done whatever needs doing. I've also added them on WHICH? Tradesman. It's not often you get honest folk dealing with you, so it's worth sharing when you do. Like I said, I'm sure "Honest John" would approve of this garage. I have left my car and said, "Whatever needs doing"

I have been using Regal MOT for many years for all my car servicing needs. Whenever I have needed a repair, they have ensured that they only do the repair which is necessary and not overdo or overcharge or do additional jobs which are not needed. I am very happy to recommend them. They are an old fashioned garage, no frills, and only accept cash payment. But by god are they good!
