Premier Motors, Aberdeen

I took my BMW x5 to Premier Motors for air filter replacement. I thought this was a fairly easy replacement and can be done at this garage. I was wrong and I am paying a heavy price. A day earlier I had been at BMW John Clark for a driving stabilisation calibration and an air bag replacement recall a week prior. During both visit to John Clark, I had a VHC ( Vehicle Health Checks) on both visits done. BMW John Clark gave all clear no major problems. I got a checklist and video recording all clear from BMW. I got an invoice of £126 from Premier Motors, paid and drove out of their garage. I immediately noticed a knocking sound from the front and rear tension assembly. The type of noises you hear when your tension strut and suspension is failing. I called Premier Motor from car in built phone system and spoke with Mr R. C to enquire if any work was done on my suspension or tension. Mr R.C informed me that they only replaced the air filter and car was not on the ramp. Prior to leaving my car at Premier Motor, front and rear tensions and suspension assemblies were fine, and BMW gave my X5 all clear on two health checks. Car was great until I visit Premier Motor! I decided to drive the car around the same route I drive and it was as if I was driving a different car! Next day, I revisited Premier Motors to get some clarity. I met with Mr R. C who informed me that none of the mechanics are available now and he requested I bring the vehicle the next car. I decided to go back to BMW John Clark to request a road test and a new VHC (Vehicle Health Check). The result of the road test and VHC confirms my suspicions. Within a couple of days, I went from all clear no red flags to requiring front tensional assembly. I have no doubt I would be requiring a rear tension assembly and new suspension assemblies as well! WOW! All these for air filter replacement!! I went back to Premier Motors and showed Mr R. C the two VHC’s and Videos from BMW and asked him if he could explain what happened to my car. He replied that BMW is not perfect and they must have missed the front and rear tension defects on both VHC’s! I decided to share my experience with the public in the hope that others will learn from my experience.

This was my second visit to Premier Motors with my M4. I was recommended them by another Garage!!!. I have an M4 which often needs specialist tools and diagnostics. Scott and his team have everything you will need. The quality of their work is first class and Scott will ALWAYS explain in simple terms whats needed and go out of his way to help. Im very fussy about my car and for me Premire Motors is as good as it gets.

My rear brakes were due for service and my MOT was also due in September, so Scott suggested I wait until the start of August and he would do them together. Great job and happy with the price. I would recommend this garage for work to be carried out especially if you have a BMW.

Great experience. I had queries about a light coming on my dashboard. Despite being really busy that day, Scott asked me to pop by to check my vehicle was safe to drive, free of charge. So great for a novice driver. Booked my MOT whilst there. The service was quick efficient and I'm delighted. So great to have another garage for my mini rather than the one that monopolises Aberdeen.
