Miller And Middleton

When a connecting rod failed and punched a hole in the side of the 1.9Tdi engine block of my 2007 SEAT Leon, I didn’t hold out much hope of a happy outcome. It had been hard used in nearly 100,000 miles of motorway and B road driving in four years and I thought it unlikely that SEAT UK or my main dealer would feel obliged to contribute much, if anything, to getting it back on the road. The perils of the refurbishment and replacement engine industry only added to my anxiety about what lay ahead. I needn’t have worried. SEAT UK and Miller and Middleton SEAT in Colchester responded quickly and superbly with co-ordinated and textbook customer care, and I now have a SEAT sourced new engine married to a new turbo and clutch (the latter being precautions that I was happy to pay for myself given the mileage). All this came with a two year SEAT warranty. Thanks to support from SEAT UK and Miller and Middleton (which I suspect runs to thousands of pounds) my contribution to the new engine was just £1,728 plus VAT in a total “heart transplant” package which cost me just £3,700. A key factor in the support given was that I had bought from new and (loyally) met all the servicing and replacement intervals with the main dealer. I now effectively have a new car, good for at least another 100,000 miles at a cost significantly less than a second hand replacement. Well done Miller and Middleton, and well done SEAT UK.
