I have used this garage for over eight years, servicing ML, C Class, SL & SLK vehicles. Until 2011 my average spend was up to £3,500 per annum, after moving to other marques this falls to c£1,500 pa. The combination of deteriorating bodywork and inherent unreliability together with dreadful service means I have switched to Porsche & BMW. One Mercedes remains (I've owned Mercedes over 25 years). I always follow service schedule & complete every preventative measure (plugs, fluids, coolant etc) as per Mercedes guidelines. As examples of my experience with MB Milton Keynes:- 3 major repairs taking over two weeks on each occasion and each required a revisit to complete, investigations (seat recline) that caused more damage than the original fault, a £600 wiper repair that after 3 returns (including failure in rain on M25 & recovery) I gave up and went to local garage and paid £40 to make the wiper park straight. I have had one repair that was satisfactory out of over 25 visits costing between £300 - £3000. I have also encountered a staggering amount of coincidences:- Bulbs must have failed after service and before collection, coolant leak after coolant bottle replacement, bonnet catch failure after bonnet repair replacement and best of all a steering failure 10 months after a VOSA recall for the same component "yes we replaced that at you last service, we don't mention recall work, just an unlucky coincidence".....that led to £1,000 of work. I have argued vehemently to have rust attended to, twice successfully and like many abandoned by Mercedes, after 8 years they refuse to help. On my last visit I mentioned how disappointed I was about the rust and the reception/technician (when told car just turned 10 years old-£65k new AMG) he said, 'well what do you expect, its old'. Ive had two bodywork matters, one was a rust repair (two weeks) and one major bonnet replacement (four weeks). On the final rust review last year, I got a taxi and took my car back after two weeks after being sick of waiting. I have been compensated for poor service on 5 occasions after I demanded FairPlay, I'd rather have got what I paid for in the first place. Finally, I never get selected for customer service / follow ups and the 'customer feedback scores' on display in reception area are all in the high 90's%. Another coincidence?
