I've used MGG for a few years now, following a recommendation from a friend. They look after my Discovery and nothing seems to be too hard for them to tackle quickly and efficiently. I know several people who use them too, and all say the same thing.

Having broken down in Derby Tuesday 27/7 and been recovered to Elton was really despairing at my chances of getting my car repaired locally in time to get home to Durham by Saturday. However I rang Matlock Green garage on Wednesday morning where the receptionist said they were very busy but she would see if there was any chance. The lovely Holly rang back within half an hour an said they would squeeze me in, but it may be late Friday before it was done, and quoted for the work (replacement clutch and flywheel for a Megane. Car was picked up by them later that afternoon and before 5:00 pm on Wednesday I'd had a call confirming the work needed and an exact price. Three pm on Thursday (a whole day early) I got a call to say it was done. The mechanic then took me through what had failed and what damage that had done. An excellent service from start to finish and to top it off the labour costs were the same as I usually pay so not even a premium added for the rush job. Can't thank them enough and would certainly recommend them to anyone (this from someone who is reluctant to recommend anything). So to conclude and excellent professional service for a very fair price from lovely people a well deserved 5 stars

My campervan broke down with a damaged timing belt. The AA arranged to get it to MGG who do my servicing and repairs and have got me out of trouble when another garage did a dangerously bad job on my brakes. The van was dropped off at 8.00pm and looked at the next morning. It was fixed by 7.00pm, and we are now going on holiday only a day late. Steve never makes it look like he’s doing a special favour even when he obviously is and never charged a premium for really helping me out. I can’t recommend then highly enough

Our car was stuck on a drive during a weekend away with a faulty parking brake. The guys at Matlock Green Garage were really helpful for a minimal fee and came to help within 20 minutes. They fixed the problem and also advised us on what to do once back in our own hometown. Couldn’t have asked for more.

I take all my vehicles here. This is a proper garage, not a dealership with technicians and ludicrous hourly rates.

I have twice visited Matlock Green Garage in dire straits. The first time my brakes failed on Sunday morning. MGG found that anothe garage had rebuilt the brakes incorrectly after a service and the suspension had worn through the fluid pipe, causing it all to leak out. They dealt with it immediately. The second visit was with a Renault motorhome warning light that everyone else had given up on. The Renault dealer said their computer wasn't showing a fault and three other garages said they couldn't do anything without the diagnostics. The van would drive in manual but not automatic, the leisure batteries showed total drain-down and the solar panel wasn't showing any life. MGG said 'Bring it in' and fixed it for just over £100 that day. I cannot praise them highly enough. They service our car and do a fast, efficient, clean job at a good price and they deal effectively and calmly with what we consider to be a real crisis. Thank you MGG, a real garage with real people who don't have to rely on a computer to do their work.
