They investigated and cleaned a blocked EGR valve but, when this failed to clear the warning message, they investigated further and found that fault engine mounts were causing a lack of vacuum which affected the EGR valve. I have had my 2004 Volvo S60 serviced from new by the local main dealer but now realise they missed doing basic things like changing the air filter. I will go to Martin Gilbert in future for servicing both my cars.

Owner took car for test drive and advised that there was no major problem and car was OK to drive back to Scotland. Would not accept any payment for his time.

It does mean a bit of a drive to drop off, but with a courtesy car service and the fact that they will drop the car back for us, it was worth the extra effort. The quality of service, attention to detail and price are all absolutely spot on. That and the fact that they don't do work that is not necessary, but give recommendations of how long things will last and when they may need replacing or at least looking at again. Which helps spread the cost of motoring for us. Once you find a garage this good you definitely don't change again!!
