Lancaster VW sold me a 3 month old Touareg, but then wanted nothing to do with me. The car was supplied with no oil showing on the gauge, so no pre-delivery inspection, the mileage was wrongly advertised and was double what was in the advert, and the garage director’s phones were still on the car play. The last issue may seem trivial, but I cannot remove them or put my own on, and no one will help or even return a call. Do not buy from Lancaster VW is my advise.

I cannot urge you enough to stay well away from this awful garage. We bought a car this Spring and agreed for some minor work to be done before we picked it up. They delayed the pick up date by a fortnight with no reason and still delivered it with most stuff unfixed and no interest in rectifying the issues. We went in person to ask for it to be fixed (as promised, as paid for, as the forged paperwork stated had been completed already) then they returned it only for it to have a gearbox malfunction 4 days later. After getting this fixed (elsewhere as Lancaster said it was no longer their issue, 2 weeks after originally receiving the car) it began leaking inside the car. We begged the garage to release us from this broken money pit and returned the car again (it’s exhausting even to type out this ridiculousness) and received a phone call on the same day to say that the issue was now fixed. When we questioned it they admitted they may need to take a more thorough look which has consequently taken a fortnight to be fixed. Despite only having the car for 16 days out of the 3 months we’ve been paying for it, they have stated that they are categorically uninterested in helping us with arranging a suitable, safe alternative or a refund unless there are “persistent issues.” Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that their own service is recognised as a horrendous, persistent issue. If you’re looking for a car, go absolutely anywhere else but this garage. I look forward to the automated, predictable “Unfortunately we were unable to offer a resolution to your satisfaction on this occasion” response. There certainly won’t be a chance for them to try again in the future.
