Lacock Garage

I bought this car the day after it had its MOT here The chap who had the mot done said it was in good condition. On the way home I smelt smoke, it was late when I got home so couldn’t see Next day i went to drive it there was smoke coming out the exhaust and the engine light was on! I filled up with petrol and notice after taking cap off the entrance was rusty full of stones. Mr Boyd saw to the Mot. This MOT isn’t worth the paper it’s wrote on I will be seeking legal action

We had to arrange a car collection for my Dads car as the battery had died months previously. This proved no problem to them and they were here when they said they would be. Brilliant service as always from the team at Lacock garage!

I always try to take my cars here for an MOT. The only problem is that they're so good, you need to book weeks in advance. I took a car elsewhere once and had a fail due to excess play in suspension bushes. Took it to Lacock and they passed it without an advisory. Had to go to the other garage again the next year (why did I ever go back) and despite not having had any work done on the suspension bushes they failed it on something different. Lacock passed it again and it carried on running for years without any trouble. I would strongly suggest you go to a different garage so I can get an appointment for my MOT when I need one ;-)

I have been using this garage now for a couple of years, the staff are open and friendly. But most importantly totally honest. They have no problem at all with telling you that your car is fine and needs no work! On at least two occasions I suspected a fault and they could easily have agreed with me and changed a part, but they did not, they checked it out, gave it a clean bill of health and did not charge because "there was nothing wrong with it". When I went to them with an electrical issue, they told me that for them to find it would take a long time and cost a lot, so they put me in touch with someone who had superior equipment enabling the fault to be found with less labour and lower costs. Their labour rate is low and I cannot recommend them enough.
