Kwik-Fit, Gosport

Needed an emergency repair, Kwik Fit - no need to book! Ideal I thought they can help….. WRONG! Have you booked? No Well cant help you then! False advertising at its best! Useless!

Having taken HJ's advice last year and taken out a warranty with Warranty Direct, I was directed by them to Kwik-Fit as their MoT partner with a suitable discount. Last year I went to the local Kwik-Fit in Fareham (Hants) but their MoT's are 'farmed out' to Hampshire Tyre Services and although the car passed it was ridiculed by the tester so much that I vowed not to go to them again. My car is a Mitsubishi "i" which due to ill health has replaced 50 years of motor-cycles and despite it's rarity (meaning spares and servicing via Mitsubishi only) I love it. Anyway this year I decided to try the next Kwik-Fit at Gosport which does do it's own MoT's. To my chagrin I'd noticed on the way to the test that the front wiper blade was not doing a very good job and it was no surprise that I got the phone call that the car had failed - and again as expected Kwik-fit had found they had no wiper blades to fit - its order only from the main dealer - they said they woulf put my MoT money on deposit only and not charge when I took it back for a re-test. Ten minutes or so later I got another call to say that the mechanic had canibalised a wiper blade of the correct length (but not fitting etc) and put it's 'rubber' into my arm so that I got the MoT without having to return. The cost just the £9,99 for the blade. In this day and age I reckon that's a bit of good old fashioned common sense and lateral thinking - sadly very rare nowadays. 11 out of 10 from me for service and courtesy all round.
