Had a mis-fire, sometimes failure to start and one complete on-road failure on a 20 year old Rangerover, my local garage could not identify the fault. Inverness 4X4 checked everything again, earths, distributor, plug leag leads etc. No faults found. Proprietor Hamish Grant had an intuition that it might be the crankshaft sensor, even though it showed no damage. Obtained my prior approval to risk £100 on a replacement sensor, and it worked ! Value for money would be 6 smiley faces, if the scale went up to 6 !
