My encounter with this garage has left me with serious concerns about their business practices and transparency. Price Gouging on Injector Replacement: Two years ago, I had two injectors replaced for a total of £250. Yesterday, they replaced a single injector and billed me £670. While I understand that prices can increase over time, this drastic jump seems unreasonable and unjustified. When I inquired about the increase, they simply stated that prices have gone up but provided no detailed breakdown or justification. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. Lack of Invoice and Poor Communication: Despite multiple requests, I was not provided with a detailed invoice. Instead, I was told to pay the bill without any clear explanation of the charges. Whenever I questioned the bill, their staff became defensive and unhelpful. Transparent communication is crucial for customer trust, and their evasiveness raises serious doubts about their honesty. Previous Overcharge for Washer Fluid: On a previous visit, they charged me £20 for washer fluid, which they did not actually add to my vehicle. This incident alone should have been a red flag, but unfortunately, I returned due to their specialized Mercedes-Benz software. This kind of dishonest practice further undermines their credibility. Excessive Diagnostic Fee: They charged me £150 for a diagnostic test, which involved merely plugging in a computer for ten minutes. This fee is exorbitantly high for such a simple procedure and reflects poorly on their pricing policies. Diagnostic tests are routine and should not come with such a steep price tag. Inconsistent Billing Practices: The current bill included parts and charges that were not listed in my original bill from 2022. This inconsistency suggests potential overcharging and a lack of standard pricing practices. It is concerning that their billing can vary so dramatically without clear explanations. General Experience: Overall, my interactions with Gerry Doverman Ltd. have been marred by poor communication, unjustified costs, and questionable practices. The defensiveness of their staff when questioned about the bill and the lack of detailed invoices only add to the suspicion. This experience mirrors other negative reviews I’ve seen on platforms like Honest John and Trust My Garage, where similar issues of overcharging and poor service have been reported . Given these issues, I would strongly advise against using Gerry Doverman Ltd. for any vehicle services. There are plenty of other reputable garages that offer transparent, fair, and honest services. Customer comes first. Previously used them to obtain some replacement parts, quickly received and fitted f.o.c. Then used again for annual service and MOT, complementary courtesy car, they also fixed a few annoying problems, job done quickly and at very fair prices. I also recommended a friend to go with an oil leak on a 5 series, they knew straight away what was causing the problem and quickly fixed, a previous garage weren't successful. Will definitely use and recommend them again.

I visited Dovermans (Independent Mercedes, BMW and Porsche garage) 3 times in the past 6 months for attention to a Mercedes C180 and received excellent care and treatment: 1) a replacement wing mirror/indicator unit knocked off by a careless passing motorist with the new unit obtained in 24 hours and fitted immediately and tested with no labour charge and just the unit cost; 2) a later visit with an annoying creaking noise from the steering column area - a day's work of stripping the steering assemblies and checking all parts, finding all o.k. and curing the problem along the way, with no charge for the work and a free courtesy car also; 3) a further visit with a detached front number plate - an instant cure performed with new fixings carried out while waiting and again no charge whatsoever. All this done with courtesy and humour and a customer lounge, free coffee and car magazines as well. Exceptional!
