"Extreme rip off"

Ordered to change glow plugs and change engine oil only. They carried out all service NEVER BEEN ORDERED, checking liquids, tires and etc £63 only for labour. To investigate that I need glow plugs - £40 to plug in tablet and check error code. Plus £50 (investigation) to make sure visually I need only glow plugs. (£90 without VAT total since at Nissan dealer only £50 with VAT) They failed to find a problem and told me I need one more part. Change a screw (sensor). £50 labour cost without VAT for changing screw. Extreme rip off. Will never come back again. Repair at Official dealer will be much cheaper.

My car was for rear springs replacement only. The garage promised me that they will also get my car's MOT retested as the MOT garage is literally opposite of Cory's garage. I did not get any call back from the garage for about 4.5 hours (in case it is a 0.5h job) so I decided to give them a call. The lady who picked up the phone said with a horrible attitude saying ''Don't worry! When the car is ready I will give you a call back!''. 1.5 hours later there was still not a call back from her so I started phoning them back at around 6pm continuously to around 6:15. After no one answering the phone I decided to go there. The garage was completely shut and my car was not outside. Long story short, the mechanic was still in the area so I got my car back but with no MOT as they have not even tried to arrange a retest, because of some ridiculously stupid reasons and the excuse ''We've tried to call you!''. Which was a lie as we both have checked their phone history and the lady has never dialled my number that day. Then on the first speed bump I heard knocking sound from the rear and I MUST say that this knocking was not there before the repair. So next day I returned to check what is going on and it turned up that my spring top bump stops were also gone. I was promised that they will replace them for me free of charge. No surprise next day they told me that they can't find the parts. Funnily I spent less than 5 mins and I found the bump stops myself online.

We have used Cory's Car Repairs for a good few years now and have always had fantastic service! Cory has always sorted our vehicles extremely quickly and professionally, even when it has meant action above and beyond the call of duty! Also at a very reasonable and honest cost. We totally recommend Cory's Car Repairs.

I took my car into Cory's Car Repairs after asking on Facebook if anyone could recommend a good, reasonably priced garage. 8 out of the 8 replies suggested Cory's, so I went with the majority. My car had been struggling to start first thing in the mornings, requiring me to obtain a jump start. However, because it was fine at other times and the radio, lights and other electrics worked when the car wouldn't start, I assumed it was either the starter motor or alternator, rather than the battery. I was expecting a hefty bill. I took my car to Cory's, nervously (I'm female, young and blonde with no idea about cars - I'd heard of garages that invent work and take advantage of people like me) and spoke to the receptionist (his wife). Cory came out straight away and did some tests. He told me my battery was faulty, which was the least expensive problem it could have been. He then showed me the print out showing the diagnosis. Unfortunately, he didn't have the battery I needed in stock, so he offered to pop out and pick one up for me. Within 30 minutes of walking in the office, I was on my way with a working car and a bill for just £78. I was so impressed with the service that I returned to get my brakes done. I thought both sets needed replacing, but Cory changed the front ones and told me the back ones would be fine until Christmas and to save my money! You will never meet a more honest mechanic than here, at this friendly, caring, family-run business!

I've used this garage a small number of times now, having only lived in the area for the last 18 months, this is the 3rd i've tried and have no doubt I'll recommend them to anyone. Each time there's been any problems, Cory has phoned me to let me know in detail what needs doing. Being a professional automotive/mechanical engineer myself, I can quickly make a decent judgement on diagnoses. In many cases, Cory will take video evidence of work he carries out as further assurance of what he's been up to whilst the car's been in his hands. As an example, I took my ford focus to a different garage to find out about an odd 'clunking sound'. I suspected a cv joint. The first garage I took it to couldn't hear the sound, and didn't see anything wrong at all. This is when I found Cory, and took my car there. He immediately noticed the buckled wheel, along with some rear arm bushes that urgently needed replacing. Had I continued to drive the car based on the previous garages conclusion, the repair bill could've been much larger.
