Combe Down Garage, Bath

Had some work done recently on the car which involved parts replacement and problems quickly arose related to the repair? Took the car back to the garage for rectification and was told I would probably need to pay for further expensive replacement parts. The reasoning sounded a bit suspect to me (I work in engineering) so I googled the problem and the remedy was simple and took me all of about 2 minutes to do myself. The problem was quite common and I'm pretty sure they would have known how to fix it. I've used this garage before and thought they were ok, and I put my trust in them to sort the car out. But now I'm not so sure.

Had to be towed from motorway on a Saturday too late to get there before closing. Arranged where to leave vehicle and garage dealt with repair as soon as they could. They added a new bracket so that the breakdown didn't happen again. We were pleased that a repair could be made rather than having to have a new radiator fitted.

Excellent work, after being quoted three times as much for some work to our Mini by the dealership these guys have helped us out no end. Sarah in the office was super helpful and very responsive with lots of help and advice. They even helped out with a couple of other little niggles we had with no bother at all. I suppose the car was fixed but the service was shocking, it cost nearly 50% more than quoted and the car was returned so dirty it was impossible to see out of the windows.

We have been using Combe Down garage for 2 years for a VW Polo. We had recommendations from three other users (always a good sign). When they did the 1st major service everything was done including a full valet and even grease on the locks and hinges. This year they did a minor service and changed the Cam belt for less than the price quoted. It might not be the smartest premises but better that than than paying the inflated main dealer prices!
