"Unprofessional, Overcharging, Terrible Customer Service"

If anyone has ever read one of my reviews before, you would know I usually only leave good reviews. The reasoning for this is because I don’t believe in trashing a company before I allow them the opportunity to rectify the issue. Good businesses offer a solution, unfortunately, Colin’s does not. We took our car in for shock toppers to be replaced & an MOT yesterday morning (9am). We were told prior to any work being completed what it would cost for the work and MOT. Not only were we charged extra for them to use their own tools to remove the tires, the car wasn’t even ready when we arrived back at 5:45pm. They needed to keep the car overnight. We arrived back this morning at 9:15am and had a bill for £475. We were told it would be £210 for the shock topper parts (we knew needed to be replaced) and £45 for the MOT. We were under the impression that the car would pass its MOT no problem once these parts had been replaced because it just had a full 75k mile service at the Mitsubushi dealership (Station Garage) last week. Never have I been somewhere that 1. Guarantees the price of the works & MOT prior to them being completed. 2. Needs 24 hours to complete the works & MOT. We were inconvenienced by not having a car (we have a baby and God forbid if we had an emergency). We also had to spend money on taxis - 4 times there and back (they tried rectifying the situation by taking £50 off for this - laughable). They also tried “rectifying” the situation by offering a payment plan for their overcharges. MORAL of the story is: do your research and always remember to read reviews (had I read the reviews on here prior, I would have canceled); don’t trust any business that gives you a set price prior to completing work; DON’T go to Colin’s. I hope this review helps with anyone else thinking of using Colin’s (especially during these uncertain times and you don’t want someone price gouging). I will be cross sharing this review on other social media forms and Google.

My car went for mot. As i live overseas most of the year it has been driven sparsely for two months. Failed mot for track rod end and handbrake (work carried out at last mot) and one binding brake (which my partner has assured me is not binding). Coronavirus pressure time means they can repair but it will cost £700 and another mot (this one just cost £50odd).

I used a Groupon deal at this garage to have a simple oil change and what they laughably called a service. It’s just an excuse to get you in the door and then they’ll try and make out your car needs extra work, plus they’ll ‘surcharge’ you for the work that’s allegedly included on the Groupon voucher. When I went to pick up my car they said that it needed a new starter motor. However, it was working fine when I left it at the garage the day before and I’d never had any problems with it prior to being told it needed to be replaced. They also didn’t reset the service warning light, even though I specifically asked them to, and they said that they had done it. Also, my drivers’ side carpet was caked in filth because they hadn’t used floor protection. I couldn’t get my car started when I went to collect it and they wouldn’t help me to start it either. I had to call a breakdown service and get the car taken to a proper garage to be repaired and the fault turned out to be nothing to do with the starter motor. They said that they would call to give a price on any agreed work, but they didn’t. They surcharged me almost £60 for using 5.5l of 5-30 oil instead of 4l of 10-40 and changing my diesel fuel filter (which I provided!). When I was telling a friend about what had happened they told me about someone they knew that had used them too. After they’d picked up their car, one of their front wheels fell off at a roundabout in Dyce because the mechanic hadn’t bothered to replace one of the wheel nuts correctly. NO WAY SHOULD ANYONE USE THIS GARAGE. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST, DANGEROUS AND INCOMPETENT. IF YOU’VE USED THEM THEN GET YOUR CAR CHECKED BY A PROPER GARAGE, AS IT MAY WELL BE DANGEROUS

Unprofessional, HSE need to pay them a visit. Mechanic under a jacked up car on a slope. Noticed carbon fluid running into drainage on the public road. They used rotating tools with no eye protection nor correct PPE or tools. Mechanic and manager had trainers on. I paid for my AC system to be serviced and topped up. I witnessed the digital read out display "No leak detected." Was distracted by the manager and returned 10 minutes later only to be told my AC was not cooling down. I told him what I witnessed, but his argument was that my compressor clutch bearing was noisy, needed replaced and that was the reason for the AC not cooling. Absolute B.S, I'm a qualified engineer and found this as a downright insult. They are an insult to the industry and need investigated and stop them ripping anyone else off. I got my friend to test my system the day after and it read zero on pressure. They had not topped up my Cars AC with freon nor luminous leak detection fluid as promised. I got Halfords to do the job properly. Colins garage in bucksburn refused a refund. Total bunch of half wit bums. I will be reporting them and naming and shaming to all friends and family.

It was in for a service and there were no problem with my car. It was handed to them in the morning, it came back three days later at 930 at night. There was damage to the front wheel ball joints My car was returned with spillage in the front seat There was an aux cable missing in my car Garage rarely returned my phonecalls when i was promised updates and delivery of my car Never returned my car for three days Car had to go back into the garage twice more, and again my car was not returned for days, and the garage did not give me a courtesy car or returned my phone calls. Value for money is poor considering the significant costs endured having no car for a total of 9 days.

I got a service from them and it was discovered I had a damaged front coil spring. On the Friday I spoke to someone about getting two front coils springs fitted on the Monday. We agreed I would drop my car off on the way to work and could pick it up after work. He said he would be in at 7.30, I turned up at 8.00 and 25mins later a member of his staff turned up to start work. This member of staff had no keys but as he had a Colin's boiler suit on I left my car with him. My Girlfriend picked me up from work at 16.30 to collect my car. when we got there the car was outside and the garage was closed. We had to drive back into town at rush hour to get my spare key and I drove my car home as I needed it for work the next day. The work had been done but the problem was the car was lowered before and after they had fitted the new coil springs it wasn't. Surely your car should come out the garage the way it was before it went in. After driving the car for a few days I noticed the fan was constantly running and staying on for 5mins after the engine had stopped. after doing a bit of research online I found out that if the oil cap was not fitted properly a sensor in the oil tank will put the engine into safe mode and the fan will constantly run. Sure enough, when I checked the oil cap, they had failed to tighten it correctly when doing the oil change at the service. Complete Joke! BTW this shambles cost me over £300.

I used colins tyres for approx 3 years with nothing but great service, wether through black circles web site or directly. Then, the last time, we put our cherished and incredibly rare car in for an mot. We collected car, only to discover someone had attempted to drive it uo a grass bank in they're car park. Result- cracked bumper, creased wings, missing plastic grille from bumper, grazed carbon fiber splitter, which had taken huge divet out of grass. After bringing this to owners son's attention, he became aggressive instantly, denied even though you could see my tyre marks on grass verge, missing plastic vent laying at top of verge. eventually owners other son, Richard, took charge of situation and had car repaired, promise of full tank of fuel etc. He wa far more professional, aand although by this stage i was extremely angry, he took time to rectify. My missus collected the car from colins, no fuel left (150 miles range prior) so asked owner, only to be met with a volley of abuse, threats of breaking fingers. I am a builder and have seen alot of shocking things happen between clients and workmen, but i have never seen anything as bad as what i saw at colins.
