"Sparkling clean premises, civil and knowledgeable staff, and a Dealer Principal who's prepared to listen to and act on customers' complaints."

My daughter purchased a new Renault Captur from Charles Hurst, Boucher Road, Belfast in July 2015. I discovered brake fluid dripping from the fluid reservoir cap in August 2015 (the car is parked nose-down on a sloping driveway). Over the course of the next four months, Charles Hurst attempted to fix the leak - new caps, new reservoir - with no success. I informed their Dealer Principal (by Special Delivery Letter) I would reject the vehicle for a full refund if the third repair failed (which it did). Every visit I made to the garage, any work carried out, every meeting I had with the Dealer Principal or their Service Manager I recorded on paper then transferred to computer. It took great persistence on my part, sticking to my position that they as the supplier were responsible for either rectifying the fault or providing a refund. I was offered a pre-registered Captur as a replacement which I refused. In the end though, I received a full refund, parked the car on their forecourt and handed my daughter the cheque. It was a stressful period, but I understand their position - no business likes to lose money. But 'hats off' to Charles Hurst and their Dealer Principal, Jeff McCartney who lived up to their Motor Codes Code of Practice.
