Have now used this garage several times for servicing and major repairs on my BMW 318d tourer. Always a warm welcome and a willingness to discuss the job to be done. Accurate with their quotes, do a great job in the stipulated time and stick to their estimate of cost with no hidden surprises. Always call as promised when the job's finished. Finally, their labour charges are very reasonable, and far lower than the rip-off main dealers. Only pity is they have no waiting room with refreshments, but I guess that helps to keep the costs down. Newport itself could do with a café where a decent breakfast and a walk round the town would while away the time of a 2 hour service first thing in the morning.

In April we were on a short break on the Island when the door mechanism on the passenger of my C4 failed which meant my wife had to hold the door to as we drove into Newport in the hope of finding a Citroen dealer. Luckily this did not take long and although late in the afternoon it was booked in and the door stripped to locate the problem. I was shown the failed part and told it could be fixed the next day. In the meantime I had the free use of one of their cars (which, as requested, I topped up with petrol to cover my usage). I was a little disappointed to receive a text the next day to say the part had not arrived (from the mainland) and spoke to the garage explaining we were booked on the 10.30 ferry the following day and was concerned we would miss this which would be a pity as we were part of a group. The garage said they would have the part early the next day and would be able to fit it first thing. I was therefore relieved to receive a text at breakfast confirming the repair had been completed and was able to collect the car in plenty of time to catch the scheduled ferry. A couple of weeks later I received a follow up call to see if everything OK. I thought their charge was reasonable as a main dealer coming to about £100 in total. B.Ward
