Fiat failed MOT and was quoted £2,500 for repairs (inc Vat) by phone. Agreed verbal quote. Repairs were completed but cost £3,230. No warning of escalation either by phone call or text was received. Always aware that other problems can be found when stripping down a car but in this case there were no other issues. Credit cards couldn't cover this total and alternative ways to pay i.e. via their financer company not offered. Also, vehicle only covered 50 miles between last MOT by same firm and the faults found now should have been apparent then.
