Took my E280 CDi to Alex Crow on the recommendation of my local village garage who was struggling to positively identify the significant power loss I was experiencing. I waited whilst the plug-in diagnostics confirmed the location of the problem and in the time it took me to go off and get a cup of tea Alex called me to say that the repair had bee carried out. I couldn't have been happier with the speed of the service or the very modest charge. Clearly demonstrated the value of engaging with a Mercedes specialist without the main-dealer paraphernalia.

Don't use

After reading positive reviews about Alex, I decided to take my C320 cdi to him. I am in Peterborough , so was a bit of a trek. But so glad I did. I had a turbo solenoid fault on my car. Every where i took it locally were saying that i need a new turbo. ie would have cost me over a grand easy. Talked to Alex he knew right away what the issue was and said its a common fault on these cars and that you dont need to replace the whole turbo with the solenoid. He sent the solenoid for repairs and kept me updated via email. I collected the car a few days later. The car is back to its former glory...Thank you Alex for the work you have done . Will bring it down when its due its service..Glad to have found someone I can trust finally!!

Last year I telephoned Alex Crow, Stowmarket, Suffolk http://alexcrow.moonfruit.com/ for a quote to replace two front shock absorbers. He gave a break down of price for parts and labour, plus VAT. When I picked up the car he said the replacement time was slightly less than he had quoted and reduced the price accordingly. That was the seond time I have used Alex. The previous year (the first occassion I used him) on my arrival to collect my car just before closing time, after a major service, he put it up on the hoist and spent over 30 minutes talking me through what had been done, what were advisories and what he recommended actually needed to be done. Just been for my third visit - a routine service. I'm very impressed by the work carried out on my E300D estate and Alex's genuineness. He has been a pleasure to deal with and always is extremely efficient.
