ACRE - Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

Very disappointed. I took my car in to have the air conditioning unit checked and then filled before a family trip. Within days the air con stopped working. When I returned I took it back to be told there is a leak but that the "check" they did the first time wouldn't have picked it up? When I asked for the air conditioning unit to be checked how specific exactly do I have to be? I obviously wanted to know if there was a leak before waisting money getting it filled. Cost to fix the leak was over £300 on top of the money already wasted. I feel mislead and ripped off and certainly will not use again.

Took my van here after my usual garage charged £260 to not fix my non functioning air con. Ian quickly found the real fault, ordered the parts and quickly carried out the work. Don't bother using any other garage for air con problems, all too often they use 'diagnostics' to lead them the wrong way, and then guess the rest of the way at your expense. Go direct to the experts, ACRE is the place!

I cannot recommend A.C.R.E. garage of Carterton enough. From the moment I was recommended to them and then spoke to Ian Granville I have received the most incredibly honest and trusted assistance. Ian has a fabulous way with customers and within 10 minutes of arriving at my home to inspect the air conditioning failure Ian had diagnosed the problem. I was truly amazed with such a speedy solution and the overall price to have my car picked up from my home [FOC], taken to the garage on a saturday morning and returned to my home at 3pm the same day completely fixed. A week or so earlier I had taken the car to the local Mercedes dealer in Kidlington for an air conditioning check, service and refresh as it did not appear to be working properly. It took Mercedes a whole hour to do this and cost me money for what I now know was an incorrect diagnostic check and work. Not only did I pay for this hours check by Mercedes they then recommended further diagnosis and replacement of a compressor & expansion pipe which would of cost in the region of £1,257! My faith in Mercedes engineers knowledge and diagnostic equipment is now lost forever and I will complain about the lack of the technical ability to diagnose and correctly repair a relatively easy and common problem. A.C.R.E. took 10 minutes FOC to diagnose that the Condenser needed to be replaced and the total cost was just a fraction over £300. A.C.R.E. also do tyres and servicing so please do not hesitate to give them a call as I will certainly be recommending them to all my friends and all of you here on John's great web site.
