My local BMW dealer (Vines of Guildford - highly recommended) is getting my wife's 5 series E61 2008 520d touring's brakes looked at on a warning light. It needs new front pads and discs (lipped), cost £504. Had front disks/pads replaced in 2010 two years from new at 30K miles and now at 60K miles, so twice in its 4-year life. She really does drive very carefully and always in the countryside. Dealer says that pads are more aggressive now, but is this excessive wear?
