Should I sell my 7 year old Focus or keep it?

I have a 2019 Focus Titanium Auto that I have had from new. In three years it will need a cambelt change. I understand that will cost from £800 up to £1800 and not increase the car's value. At 32,000 miles there is more than three years life in the car and I'll only add a max of 4,000 miles each year. My idea as an 82 year old, was to keep it for another ten years then hand in my licence. Would it be better to have the work done in 2029, or sell it on within six months and buy another car?
If you are happy with your current car and plan to keep it for the next ten years, then generally speaking we would advise sticking with your current car as a known quantity rather than going through the hassle of selling it and finding something to replace it, which may also require maintenance within the next ten years. No car has its value increased by scheduled maintenance, but what it does is help to maintain its lifespan and keep as much of its value as possible. With a new timing belt and regular services there is no reason why it will not easily last the next ten years, particularly with your low annual mileage.
