A clutch that is worn or close to worn out can exhibit a number of symptoms, including a stiff pedal action, unusual noises and a high biting point. It is possible that adjusting the clutch could improve its performance, but given the car is now over 10 years old the most likely outcome is that a new clutch will be required.
