I have heard numerous horror stories about charges from Nissan main dealers to service the simplest of cars like the Micra. Is this true?
Main dealer servicing will almost always be more expensive than independent specialists, but for some owners the reassurance of OEM parts and main dealer stamps in the service history are worth the extra cost. We have seen no reports to suggest that Nissan main dealer servicing is more expensive compared to similar brands, but if this is a concern we would suggest contacting your local Nissan dealer and asking for a breakdown of servicing costs. It is also worth bearing in mind that the outgoing generation Micra is far from a simple car, and even the lowest specification car comes with lane departure warning, lane keep assistance and autonomous emergency braking. Recommended service intervals also have a mileage and time component, so a low mileage car would follow the same service schedule as a high mileage car, just with less frequency.
